I agree, the idea that the horn isn't directly in front of his mouth at any given moment throughout the action is totally inconceivable.

And since his sword point is to the ground, he must be stabbing the ground, right?

I went back probably 5-6 pages and found nothing on this but, this and another upgrade pack came into the shop today. I purchased it because I like the sun design (dark souls,) but, I have no idea if it represents a unique host that wasn't in the stormhost book or if it is a company marking.

Look, Chaos got ahold of everything, even the guy trying to sound his trumpet with his eye ought to expect the ground to attempt to eat him at some point.

Seriously, though, you're right, that's a snapshot of the action. Why they chose that particular pose for said snapshot instead of him either blowing the horn or lowering it in anticipation of combat is anyone's guess.

Probably has the same answer as to why they painted his mouth gold...

He's not sticking it in his eye, I'm fairly sure there's a gap between his face and the mouthpiece, like below:

The instrument ends in the bit with the two loops, there's a gap, then his face. The area between his face and the instrument is partially filled by his halo and partially by the background. That's my take on it anyway, we'll have answers in a minute when it goes up in NZ.

On the white dwarf cover, it doesn't look nearly as misaligned, by the way.

I'm still not a fan of trumpeters though

On the GW site it's not nearly as bad by the way.

Still think the models is gross to look at though. They should use etching or metal for banners because I notice GW tend to have some really think banners and flags. Some companies use cut outs for banners which I think are nice too.

The heralder would look far better with sword in sheath and using 2 hands on the large horn. He looks like a super model trying to play army or something. His horn is at nose height but it's a thick horn so it actually covers top of the mouth and nose by the looks of it.

It makes other games look so much cheaper and on online stores GW does not make up a large amount of best seller hobbies as a result. It's actually cheaper for us to by from US or UK at above their prices and get it shipped here than it is to buy from GW. At the moment X wing, Armada and Kings of war make up the 10 top games in the hobbies section of our biggest online retailer. Nuln wash being the only GW show on that list.

50 dollars for trumpet man? Well for the price of three trumpet men I can have A LOT of miniatures from pretty much anywhere. Infinity only cost me like 80 or so from memory. That's half a Mantic army in that one trumpet model. Bolt action cost 180 for a very large force (like huge). Who in their right mind would ever by this trumpeter with NZ pricing? Probably (and hopefully) very few people. In my experience none.

To be honest, im glad for the pricing really.

Preorders are up on the New Zealand page.

Looks like the Heraldor's helm has a cutout so he can toot his own horn, so to speak The 360 view also shows that the horn isn't quite as misaligned as some of the pics would lead one to believe.

Someone with the models might know more, but it is interesting that all the sigmarine hairstyles seem to be flat and waving to the side. Is it meant to be hair or slim fire?

Still haven't quite got a handle on it myself. The shield/shoulder pad motif displays which 'striking' (or founding in chapter-speak) the Eternal is from. The twin-tailed comet is the second striking, the lightning hammer thingy is the first. Logically the sun/moon would therefore be third, but I haven't seen anything to explain that yet.

This sneak peek calls them crests or plumes on their warhelms and the colors are used to denote which Chamber the Stormcast Eternal belongs to.

I see, even in the pictures the plumes moves sideways though. Seems weird for plumes of that type to be blowing around in that manner.

Definitely hair plume, but flat because for every Stormcast mini I've seen so far they've used the axis of the halo for the mold joins so the hair would have to be transverse.

Haven't previous WHFB/End Times collectors editions sold out in days or is my memory failing me? If true, then the fact that CE Sigmarites is still on sale may be telling. Or I'm just remembering wrong, in which case nothing to see here.

I don't think you're wrong, with one or two exceptions, the CEs seem to have been releasing in smaller numbers and selling over longer periods. Nothing compared to the BL LEs though, last I checked you could still buy LE books released in Feb. When Promethean Sun went up for pre order about 4 years ago it went in minutes.

That picture makes the model look downright dumb, it just happens that the new model photo we now see is not as bad as the picture above made out.

Mouth will get greenstuffed over and painted with the rest of the helmet.

I like no mouth sticking things in his eye hole version better.

Feel like I should have a musician for when these guys go steam rolling through Kings of War as large infantry.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Convert his sword into a cello or something, then take away the horn. He will look like he is gloriously preparing to drop some sick classical tunes of war or something.

Yes it is exactly how I imagined him. I'll just sell my centurions for 40$ and throw that towards him. I'll then use the horn on the one Sigmarine on the Lord Relicator, a Prosecutor or some other leader model.

Nah mate, get your own Hans Zimmar or Bachmar (I'd send you a cello though if I ever figured it out with the original. ) That looks seriously baroque now that you have photo-shopped him that way. I tried to also photoshop him with two batons like a conductor but, alas I cannot.
