What better way to add a centerpiece to a Nurgle army than a massive GUO that uses titan rules? That was my logic atleast, and since I've started I cant go back now! Let's just call him Yyg... damn you greater daemon names!

So he's big. About a foot IIRC. I started with a water bottle and built up from there with insulating foam to save materials and time and because I'm a cheap little Cacty, then moved on to the eye, which is just a scored ball of clay. I need to touch it up but you get the idea. The legs have been a bitch, seeing as there are six of them...

I've also started working on the plasma gun arm, which will be a bile spewing sphincter because Nurgle. And flies. He'll also probably have one of those fly tongue thingies (can't remember the name, you know what I'm talking about) and MAYBE wings.

The plasma arm of DOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Yyg next to a cultist, he's at an angle and even bigger IRL. You'll see when the legs are done.

That's all for now. This is the largest project I've ever had, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it!
Ok bye don't forget the government is reptiles jet fuel can't melt dank memes.

The legs have been a bitch, seeing as there are six of them...

I'm working on a big GUO for my nurgle army as a centerpiece. He will use chaos warhound rules if he ever sees the tabletop.

Are those 3 protrusions from the lower body the beginnings of the legs? I was wondering what those were...Looks like its coming together well though. I imagine the legs (if I did indeed figure out what the legs were) will be bulked out later on?

Yep, those are the legs. I may bulk em up or leave them small to further the bloated effect. Theyre already as thick as a marine, though I may replace em as the foil keeps bending even with all the clay.

I can see it working if you sculpt some to-scale hard details into crevices here and there. A distorted mouth, a claw or protruding rib... A screaming face.
Right now it looks like a large scale blob, and you'll be fighting that the entire time. Think about how Titans retain their sense of scale with small details like cabling, decor, etc.

Good luck with it!

Thanks! By this you mean the standard nurgle sculpting: Rot, gore, zits, intestines, ect?

Aye, and something to give a human scale to it. That makes it clear that it's a large... small thing, not a medium sized model, if that makes sense.
Think like how some of the colossal monsters have human skulls on the base, etc.

OOOOOOHHHHH yes that makes a bunch of sense! I was thinking a classic mark of nurgle in skulls, rotting corpses, the likes. And I didn't notice it was BC! Tis an honor m'lord

I was struggling to explain that, so I'm glad it made sense.
It comes to mind if you compare the large undead dragon from Reaper's first Bones Kickstarter, to say, for sake of the explanation, GW's Smaug. The Bones dragon looks like a large toy in person, until it's painted. There's no easily grabbed point of reference. Whereas Smaug has the treasure and hobbit and little details to give us a clue.

Broken shields, weapons, bones, skulls, they're a little corny, but they help on monster bases to tell our easily confused animal brain how to work it out.

Love it.

Good idea using insulation foam. It'd be a nightmare to get those forms if you were to sculpt it by hand. Can't wait to see the finished piece.

Once again, bravo

That was my thoughts when using it. It's supposed to be good for terrain too, which is nice!

How sturdy are the limbs? Does stuff adhere to this well?
I sort of want to poke it.

Well it's covered in about 1mm of clay. So it wiggles right now. I poked it for you . I'm adding more right now and I replaced the foil leg skeletons with wooden skewers. Which is nice!

How will you go about making the mouth?
I'm assuming there will be a mouth, or possibly multiple mouths? (I really like the texture on this model! )

Ok, I see where you are going with this.....

Its a real opportunity to practice GS skills and modeling. Could also be a complete disaster. Either way.....I'm feeling it for the potential it has.

Ooh, I have a thought! I have a spare Reaper Bones mouth monster - "Reaper 92721" that I'll never use.
If you like, I could send you that for parts?
It lays flat, but if you heat it, it would definitely curve. The tentacles are separate pieces.

I'm actually thinking of sculpting it myself. That's really what this project is about for me, but thanks for the offer BC!

Yurp!

If you can't make the "fly god" idea work, you can always go free form with Nurgle nastiness and maws/tentacles aplenty. Greenstuff work like that is not as hard as you'd think, and is really great practice.

I've had a bit of experience with GS, as I'm working on converting all of DV to Nurgle CSM, which is very enjoyable.

On a side note, I saw a technique online that involved using a large brush to give GS a skin texture. I'll probably use that, as he looks flat right now...

No worries! If you get the urge to put that on something, just drop me your addy.
Like most people who backed Bones II, I have way too many leftovers and need to find uses for them. :p
