Oh god my friend XD GK and Dark Eldar should be out of that list XD If you play a power list, put Tyranids ( formations and CAD that let you use a lot of flyrants ) and Tau ( marker lights are just..... )

There is no seven because everything else is playing a completely different game to those four.

Admech/Skitarii/Knights need to be on the list, they get crazy welfare army stuff, too. Nor should it be specifically ultramarines, there are reasons to run other chapter tactics depending on your build, and with the battle company ultramarines CTs are actually redundant.

7. Tyranids

3. Necrons
4. Ad Mech/Skitarrii
5. Tyranids

That's it. I don't like anything else in this game. I think it's all horrendously stupid or lacking interesting models.

Edit
Wait I don't get it. Are we sayinng the best armies like units and on the table top? Or the ones we like? I'm so confused. If the first Torrent of Fire has you covered. If the later then those are my choices (personal).

I believe we're talking power levels, rather than aesthetics.

Eldar and Necrons are top of the pile, easily. They get their own list. Compared to them, (specifically Necron Decurion and Wraiths, and 90% of the Eldar Codex) the rest is insubstantial.

Then look at Torrent of Fire and its tournament data it gives very clear information on which codices are the best right now.

Funny how so many people ranked Orks as Mid Tier and not a single person listed them in the top 7 armies

People always say BA are mid-tier as well until an actual ranking comes out.

Surprising how far ahead knights are. Can anyone explain? Is it some kind of statistical anomaly? Should be all be hating on them?

Also Templars are doing rather well. That may be because there are few Templar players, so them being good, or winning games could skew this a long way. I would like to see some confidence intervals....

IK are probably as high as they are due to ally shenanigans. Also, I'm not sure why BTs have their own place in the graph. As far as 7th edition is concerned, they're part of codex Space Marines.

1) Eldar
2) Necrons
3) Space Marines (1 in ITC events due to mobility advantages and Eldar Nerf house rules)
4) War Convocation (best way to run all three codexes so they get one slot)

Past here things get muddy due to allies. I will definitely rank

5) Daemons

Because they have a solid tourney winning list core and can bring several codexes of good allies in CSM KDK and Orks.

Next I think

6) Orks

Because of the multiple builds they can bring and how solidly they counter the current meta.

7) Tyranids

Mono build for the most part but a good one due to it's unique strategy. There are several codexes that can run a solid Death Star/alpha strike with their best units (GK, SWs, etc) but only one other army draws heavily on air power at the moment so Nids often go unprepared-for.

On moon miranda.

In terms of power and tournament competitiveness?

Eldar
Necrons
Space Marines
Daemons
AdMech
Tyranids (almost purely because of FMC spam)
Knights (they'd be higher, but most events have some sort of limiting factor on them both in army construction and modification to missions)

Enter the scotsmen, someone mentions how Orks aren't top 7 and he immediately ranks them in the top 7

I mean honestly, the last two are a toss up. GK, SW, Nids, Orks, Tau and DA show up with about equal frequency in tourney play. And they've all got 1/2 builds.

Why is it so vital to you that Orks are woefully underpowered? Seems like you came into a thread, posted off-topic, then called someone out for posting on-topic...
