So I've been polishing up on the new edition and using a cut down version of my tourney army (Kingdoms of men) and I gave my two friends a couple of semi-relaxed beer and dicing with death.
One Forces of nature. The other dwarves.

Between the one cannon and the crossbowmen and muskets I lost almost all my hard hitters and his troops were so solid that he completely crushed my army when my shieldwalls came close.

What was your worst defeat and what do you plan to do to overcome it? My solution is to bring a few units of musket type men and use Greek fire syphons to make it more fit my dark age theme!
Thanks all!

Added: im going to clash of kings so this is an education matter for me! Cheers

Any Flyers in your army? How about cav to get in the backfield with?

Shooty armies may work for "get em" and scenarios, but holding objectives? Pillage? Loot?

It was loot and I still got shot to pieces. Happens sometimes with terrain and placement....but my list wasn't 'optimised for the game and got spanked.
Question is: your biggest defeat, who, what, where and what you did in your lists. This can include reference to your mission ect

Double Ouch.

I learned the hard way to always have a reserve when a flier got behind me and ate up unit after unit from behind.

Even when crushed mightily by my opponent, I have enjoyed the game (and had time for a rematch)

Respectfully,

I learned that Tribal Berserkers dont belong in Regiments lol They work much better as tropps. Oh and Tribal Hunters are bad shots so i shouldnt rely on them

How are you finding the herd list?? I've been looking through it and in the mood to buy lots of old ungor models...
'that Lee guy' your so right! I learned the reserve quite quickly...but it's those times you decide to forget twenty plus years of all wargaming knowledge and throw yourself forward!!
My regular opponent fields x2 griffons in his FON army so even with reserves the new height rule plus flight means it's hard to stop!
But I have a new plan....involving bane chant, arquebusiers hordes and jar of four winds!
