Got the Betrayal at Calth email from Games workshop.

Here's all the independent stores that bought 70 copies (I think that was what was required to get on the list)

http://games-workshop.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=136827b843bb2808e5ae537dd&id=f25276144f&e=e27cbfb17a

Only 3 in Canada! US, Germany, Spain, France have a ton of stores. It's an interesting list, because you can see what stores sell a lot of GW stuff, or at least, think they'll sell a lot of the HH box -- and what areas of the world stores feel confident enough in GW sales to make that kind of investment

Incidentally, the store in my area got their two "free" display copies a couple of days ago, even though the email says 7th, and it looks just fantastic. The sprues are things of beauty.

Confirming rumors, the GW rep told them that this is NOT a limited run item and that there should be plenty of stock; however, should they run out, there will not be another run until early next year.

Surprised Wayland (or their 2nd store) isn't on the list

I'm reading through the rules now. There are 7 tiles that can be re arranged for the different missions. They have areas that are rubble, or impassable, doors that can be closed or open depending on the scenario.

The game uses large hexes. Anything in the hex is a unit. Units all get two tactical points at the start of a turn. Various actions take a tactical point: advance, shoot, assault, consolidate, run. Who goes first is random each turn, with alternating activation of units.

An interesting point is that some things strip points off a unit, such as critical hits from shooting. So enough shots at a hex will essential keep that unit pinned.

Up to 3 models can be in a hex, with terminators counting as two, and the dread as 3.

Special dice in the set for rolling with critical hits, shields, etc.

There are 6 missions in the book.

Frankly, although i haven't played it, it 'feels' like spacehulk in many ways.: Looks simple, but you know it will be a lot more complex when you start playing. Alternating activation of units will make things interesting.

The models are going together right now. Look awesome. Easily worth the money for the models. I'll get a better feel for the game after we play some tomorrow.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

So are models grouped in squads/units, or are they individual but with the allowance for 3 models to share a hex?

Holy cow, The Legion Devastation Force looks good. I haven't planned to buy any of the "HH: BaC" but this bundle is very appealing for I was planning to buy all that armour anyways.

Almost no savings? Screw that then.

Plenty of saving for us down in Australia and New Zealand though. Essentially getting the boxed game at a 33% discount.

EDIT: Actually, not quite a 33% discount. Closer to 25%. still good, though.

Not surprising, really. The only savings within the bundles would be on the resin part of it, no way would Forgeworld be allowed to discount the boxed game itself.

My favourite UK store on that list has to be 'A + M Motorcycles'. I'm fairly sure that 'Snim Stuff' is actually 'SnM Stuff', who are amazing, shame GW can't be bothered to get their name right.

they did a great job on that Word Bearers Contemptor...
when you look at the 360 view, you can see that the legs are sculpted in a striding pose...
it doesn't show from the front, but looks good from the side...
just a small turn at the waist will really save the look of his legs...
good stuff...

I'm very pleased with the details of the Cataphractii armor. Particularly, they did a great job at rendering the banded armor construction on the rear legs. I think that's very promising, if they turn their attention to Mk 3 later on.

The Mk 4 armor also looks great. Does it lack the sharpness that comes with being able to do undercuts, such as behind the knee plates? Yes. But it looks a ton better and sharper than many of the other plastic kits I've seen over the years.

The one real visual detractor that remains, in the stock sculpts, are the exhaust shrouds on the Contemptor and the holes in it...but that's easily fixed.

Yup, that MKIV armor is going to sweet as Salamanders.

That is awesome that you can get the box game and a full set of FW Legion bits together. Pretty genius move. But too much money for me lol.

I couldn't agree more with the *back* of the Cataphracti. The attention to detail there is superb. If they turn their attention to Mk3 next year, I'll go nuts all over again. LOL.

The Contemptor is my least favorite model in the box; maybe it can be modified to something I like more, maybe not. I won't complain either way, because there's so much other really beautiful stuff in Calph that I simply choose to not get hung up on it.
