Hello
I was wondering how would this (6 Rhinos and 60 Chaos Space Marines) perform

Running 60 power armour troops with Plasma seems like a good idea especially when you're moving 18 inches each turn, by turn 2 you probably are close enough to rapid fire stuff with a bolter and in every circumstance, 100+ attacks is amazing

However this is a 1100+ points and that's before upgrades :S

It's even to much for a 2000 point game but I'd use it (if it's a decent formation to run) if I was having a 2500 point game

But for 1000 points less I can run 60 cultists and for 500 points less you can run 120 and throwing Typhus in there makes...ufff, a lot of tough cookies

Chaos Marines get swept in combat and can be reduced to ws1 when facing a Nurgling.

Compare this to loyalist marines, with or without their free transports.

So no, it's not a good idea (imo).

Go with Typhus and Zombies instead if you want mass Ob.Sec.

How about Deathguard/Nurgle Marines with plasma?
They are more durable and 7 Marines per Rhino (sacred number) would suffice.

I have 30 Death Guard Plague Marines, 60 in 6 Rhinos would cost 1500+ points which is insane

I'd rather run bog standard marines with MoS and icon of excess for 500 points less and I still get 60 feel no pain guy who will be attacking first 9/10 with I5

Remember this simple bit of advice;
- Vanilla tacticals are bad
- CSM are worse than tacticals
- Therefore CSM are worse than bad.

Unfortunately, Chaos Rhino Rush went downhill after we lost the ability to summon daemons effectively. This was only 4 editions ago......

It gets said an awful lot, but if you want mexhanised chaos forces you should look at IA13 and have renegade guard in chimeras.

Except Plague Marines are a cheaper means to get Special Weapons. The only thing you get otherwise is more Bolters, and why in the world would you try to get lots of that?

You're probably taking Sicarans, Heldrakes, Blight Drones, or Plague Hulks. Bolters are useless at that point. They're ablative wounds for the Special dudes, and durable ones at that.

Heldrakes aren't forgeworld. Neither are Soul Grinders or just Plague Marines with Flamers or Havoc Launchers.
FW is also necessary to compete because of how gakky our codex is.

To say more Bolters isn't a bad thing is a bad thing.

That's if they can get close enough. Tau are good at cracking AV11.

In addition, seeing as you cant disembark and charge, your rhino has to spent a turn within rapid fire of the tau so it probably won't last long.

U are supposed the stay in the rhino and tank shock tau with the rhino so they get caught in between rhinos and the other nasties rushing forth. Let them pop the rhino bc the str4 will not hurt marines so bad. Or disembark the troops behind the rhino and it blocks line of sight forcing them to pop the rhino n not the marines.

Forgeowrld should never be the $130 answer, but until GW gives a damn, its the only thing we have for competent units

I always laugh when I see this. GW and Forgeworld are the same. Forgeworld just enables them to create patches to solve problems in between codex editions, experiment with units/rules, and make a good few $$$ in the process.

Active armies, still collecting and painting First and greatest love - Orks, Orks, and more Orks largest pile of shame, so many tanks unassembled most complete and painted beautiful models, couldn't resist the swarm will consume all
Armies in disrepair: nothing new since 5th edition oh how I want to revive, but mostly old fantasy demons and some glorious Soul Grinders in need of love
