Not to be a total ass but aren't all these blog posts supposed to be contained to a single thread?
I wouldn't care if you quoted it here so we could discuss it here but it seems.. off to be posting just the link to your blog every other day.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

All my normal blog posts will be in my normal thread - this is different because it is about a gaming guide that is meant to be around for a while - hope that makes sense. Normal service will resume in the other thread for all subsequent blog posts

Thanks for all the work you put into this. I would fix the wording here it is very confusing.
"Armour Saves
No armour save can ever be increased to better than a 3+ at any point in the game by any source, if a combination of rules would increase this just cap the save at 3+. Not that should any war scroll ever be published with a natural 2+ save that this will be allowed by can never be improved by any means."
Other than that, very clear and straight forward. I'll try it out!

I'm confused by how you're referencing spells...
"Each spell that can be cast - 1 choice"
"If the war scroll can summon each spell costs 2 choices"
Generic Chaos Sorceror Lords can cast 1 spell... but that spell can always be a summons since summoning spells are granted to Chaos Wizards... so will ALL war scrolls with the Chaos Wizard keywords always use 2 choices for each spell they can cast?
It's not intuitive. It also seems pretty crappy if I'm reading it right as it immediately penalizes any faction that can summon even if you have no intention whatsoever of summoning. You create a scenario where you HAVE to summon to make your points back.

Yes anything that can use a spell to summon costs more choices than things that cannot - this is paying for the summoning potential, you don't have to use it but because you can get troops for free this is a mechanism to counter it Automatically Appended Next Post: VanHallan wrote:Thanks for all the work you put into this. Thanks for the feedback will have a read and see if I can make it clearer - intent is that saves are capped at 3+ and can never be better.
Would be interested to hear feedback after some games

Its only the part that says "Not that should any war scroll ever be published with a natural 2+ save that this will be allowed by can never be improved by any means." That I find hard to comprehend.

I have a question about the difference between game size and pool size. In the pdf it mentions to choose a game size and then create a pool based on the warscroll for your race. Is the pool size what is used to build the force? If so, what is the game size # for?
