Sounds like it could be a good name for an English Pub.

Macaulay Culkin
Miley Cyrus
Lindsey Lohan

Hmmm, I was expecting to know a lot more. Not sure if Robin Williams and Heath Ledger count or not, since they didn't go out because the fame caught up with them. If they do count tho...add them to my list.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I'd not include Miley Cyrus; there's simply no evidence that her antics are anything other than a planned career move, and one that has been successful. In interviews she comes across as quite clear headed and plainly spoken.

On the other hand look at Britney Spears circa 2007.

But did she do anything shocking? Or is just showing your tits to someone already a crime in the US?

Nah, Miley is just getting mileage out of the media. To break and not be another Hilary Duff or even more unremembered Disney kid she needed to distance herself. She's doing an excellent job of it while still putting out music that tops charts generally.

Miley is far, far, far from the deep end. Remember, she's the daughter of a man who turned a mullet and one song into a career. Deep end also implies law breaking or rehab. Show me where Miley has been involved with any of it.

Crap, how did I forget Britney Spears? Jeez. And isn't Hayden Panettiere or w/e in a similar boat?

Yes, in my country, exposing a nude adult body in a sexual manner to children is a crime, just as criticizing Vladimir Putin in a church is a crime in Russia. Weird how freedoms are different in different places, huh?

Nah, Hayden Panettiere has a hit TV show. Decently selling music album from said tv show. Got married and has a relatively young child (I wanna say under 2) and is now appearing in the Heroes reboot. Without a sound about her in the media. She's good

Britney Spears on the other hand basically lost it for a decade and only recently got her crazy under control.

No, it is not weird, but it certainly is interesting.

And I have to correct you, criticising Putin in a church is not a crime (nor is criticising Putin in general) in Russia. It is however a crime to show disrespect towards religion, disrupt religious services or desecrate holy places.

Hayden Panettiere didn't implode but she was on a boat. She got involved in Greenpeace or some other anti-whaling group and blocked Japanese whaling ships. She's still doing Nashville (tv series) as far as I know.

Surely OJ Simpson is the most prominent celeb turned bad? A dubious murder exoneration and then going down for armed robbery?

People of every walk of life can be weird, violent or criminal. People only get disappointed because they play a nice character on TV and hold them to some expectation. Celebrities live strange lives, they're often pressured by constant media attention and criticism but are surrounded in money and people with a liberal attitude towards drink and drugs. It's no real surprise that some turn out to be weird/criminal or go over the edge and do crazy things.

OJ is kinda heavy for this, though.

Brian Harvey was in a boyband called East 17 , who were reasonably big in the 90s.

He's done the usual -- engagement, break ups, divorce, loss of money, reality shows etc etc

Did the obligatory weird Youtube vids about conspiracy theories and "dark powers" out to get him etc etc.

In the UK however he's best "loved" for -- incredibly -- running himself over in a car that he was driving.

Because of a baked potato.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

Yea, Mel Gibson is certainly his own worst enemy. Next to his ex-wife that is.

Still, Charlie Sheen pushed the bar pretty darned high for his fellow celebs.
