My question is if I take a full 7 man bodyguard can I still add Commander Farsight to another unit with his bodyguard and deepstrike them as well? For example Farsight 7 bodyguards added to another unit of regular 3 man of XV8 and deepstrike 10 VX8s or is that too much.

You can't attach a unit to another unit

Farsight is an IC. The Bodyguards are just a 7+ man unit (up to 21 man if you take the potential 14 drones). Farsight doesn't have to be deployed with the Bodyguard unit. Just as with any IC, you can pick where he goes. Typically, the best strategy is to keep him in the Bodyguard unit, but it's by no means required. You could instead deploy him with an XV-8 Team and leave the Bodyguard unit on their own.

Taindakia: pick up or otherwise acquire the Supplement: Farsight Enclaves(available as an ebook on the GW website; although Tau are getting a new dex next month and we cannot guarantee the supplement will still be valid at that point

It replaces the 7 bodyguards with "The 8"; farsight and 7 ICs that can all join a single unit(though 1 cannot deepstrike, being a broadside; and the other is an MC-IC and has to join units with other ICs last, then you have to explain to some thick people that each IC joins the unit and becomes part of the unit, not all joining eachother within the unit and part of the unit)
