Another solid source for humor/sisters tactics is over at 1d4chan, here is the link:

Allies wise, one of the nastier lists is Sisters army maxed out on melta/HF allied with the Flesh Tearer formation that gives 6 FA slots (ie 6 Drop Pods for your ladies). All for the tax of 1 troop and 1 HQ from Blood Angels.

As mentioned previously, Sisters are not really designed to be a TAC army. If you expect to face hordes, go heavy on the flamers. If you expect to face armor? Go heavy on the meltas.

In my experience, as well (and this might be my local meta, so take with salt), Sisters are intended to be played hyper-aggressively. Never walk when you can Charge, never Move when you can Shoot, and if an opening appears that allows you to pour P-Engines into it? Pour P-Engines into it.

Again, just in my own experience, Sisters rarely do well as a static, defensive army, the only two exceptions to this being when I was playing against my friend's Green Tide and against another friend's Tyranids. In those cases, I could sit in cover and maximize template usage, though those battles were extremely high body-counts for both sides.

That 1d4chan 'tactica' is utter rubbish and obviously written by people who have never actually played the army. It was already discussed, anyway.

I disagree with Psi - Sisters can TAC better than most, since it's just a case of having a neutral balance of flamers against meltas rather than specialising one way or the other.

May just be my luck then... if I bring meltas? I need more flamers. If I bring flamers? I need more meltas. My group tends to only announce what they're playing when they're setting up, so our Ork Guy, for example, might be running Tide or he might have a bunch of kans, trukks, tanks and other mech-heavy options.

Our Guard player? Emperor only knows what he's going to bring.

Simple solution: repressors.

Give all the BSS and Doms Meltas, mount them in repressors. Problem solved.

If you like the Sister aesthetic that GW has, there aren't a lot of great alternatives. If you are willing to do something more functional in terms of armor, then the picture above is of Dream Forge heavy troopers with Brother Vinni heads that I made as dominions.

They come out about the size of a space marine, perhaps a bit taller. My justification is that it's more of a piloted suit than body fitting armor to help lift the heavy weapons. For regular sisters I plan to use the Panzerjägers from Dream Forge. For helmeted heads, I've been using the Skitarri Vanguard. Those actually look pretty similar to the helmets that the metal sisters have.

You can get legit plastic heads out of the Immolator kit. Kind of rarer to find, but still...

40k costs money... Not to mention, you probably picked the wrong army if you're looking for cheap.

And repressor conversions are pretty simple.

Since FW can no longer be arsed, it would be nice if a third party manufacturer would produce a Rhino conversion kit that included a taller crew compartment and a cupola.

I'm not "new" to Sisters. I think I last bought something (other than a Codex) like ten years ago.

Even 10 years ago you could get a leman russ dozer blade to stick on a rhino.

In order to field another Repressor, I would need another Rhino. In order to get another Rhino, I would need to free up some discretionary funds that are not otherwise paying rent, bills, truck payment, medical bills or insurance.

I didn't say you were new. I said you didn't pick a cheap army. It wasn't a cheap army 10 years ago either.

And you don't need to buy a new rhino; my immolators are magnetized to be repressors.

Mine, sadly, are not. I remember thinking to myself, when I first built them "I should magnetize these" but, of course, didn't. Then I gave away buckets of bitz to friends getting into 40k (and other model-centric games) to where, at this point, the only bitz I have are some WFB Skeletons and their weapons on sprues (sorta). I could probably plasticard a Repressor together, though, or wait for my Ork friend to scrap whatever "looted X" project he's (not) working on.

I missed it being discussed; it's fun and does go over tactics, if not perfect, it is most assuredly not just rubbish.

Yes, but the tactics are weak.

Jacobus is not required to play a strong Sisters list.

It says Celestians are good at combat.

There is a list of other problems with it that I cba to go over again.

Holy Terra.

This is what I've found on eBay:

2 BSS x3 for 12$ each.

2x Meltas: 5$

2x Flamers: 7$

I have a converted Canoness from Dark Eldar kalabite bits, so this whole thing comes in at 36$, a good start, as I can as repentia later

If you want some set-piece/SC models, Raging Heroes is doing a not-Sisters line. Lotta cheesecake in the line units, but they have a couple of SC characters that would work very well for a Canoness or as a Fem-Quisitor, and a few that would work very nicely as Seraphim.

They are wrong on Celestians, they are a mistake as a unit. And Jacobus, though not required, is a steal at his points. Still a solid page.

I wouldn't go into SoB now. I would wait a little while till the plastic miniatures come out.

- 10000+ pts
Imperial Knights- 5 Standard Knights / 3 Cerastus Knights
Officio Assassinorum - 4 Assassins
CSM - 500pts? Maybe? Its from the Officio Assassinorum box so I'm pretty sure its not enough to run in a CAD
Vampire Lords- I have no idea I bought it like two days before I left country and they're still in storage so I'll have to see when I get back.]

If someone has their heart set on a Sisters army, it does them a distinct disservice to present the long-running rumors of updates as "sure things".

The truth of the matter, Ember, is that the Sisterhood is one of the least-supported armies currently in the 40K line-up. Other than the Squats (who were completely deleted like 25 years ago), the Sororitas has received fewer Codex updates, model-line updates, and fluff-representation than pretty much any other faction currently in the setting.

Waiting until the plastics are released is not the greatest advice, there is likely to be quite the lag time.

That shouldn't deter from starting an army they like. There are plenty of alternative miniatures go be used now. I posted an example above.
