I'm trying to balance the pros/cons of running either a z-95 with an upgrade or an a-wing with chaardan refit

Thoughts?

What else is in your list?

Not sure what else your flying, what your support and synergies are...
But between the 2, a fast, agile, nuisance like an A-Wing can make that final kill-shot or take some heat off a more valuable ship at a crucial time.

In a Vacuum, the A-wing's increased Speed, Agility and maneuverability would make it a better choice of where to spend 15 points. However, your list may want an initiative bid more, or have someplace else to spend three points. I'd generally favor an A-wing over a kitted-out Z-95, but can't make recommendations without a list.

I'm only a few weeks into the game and haven't really paid attention to the meta outside of what I've read on here.

This is the 120pt list for escalation. I basically need to add 30pts to it but have already opted for a 15pt a wing.

I'm thinking a Z-95 with ion missiles would help line ships up for the btl-a4's 3 attacks

I would go A-WIng myself... a dedicated blocker would help more than the Ion Missile... since you can use it on multiple turns.

Z-95, and then give Kyle Kataran the Moldy Crow title.

Is there a 150pt escalation round after this? You might want to run at a 15pt deficit this round so that you can add a 45pt ace ship next round.

I hadn't even thought of that
I was planning on taking 1 a-wing, but I'm unsure whether a second one would be better than a z-95 and 3 pts for an upgrade somewhere

Also taking a Recon Specialist instead of Lando would help getting Focus tokens. It would also give you a Focus for each of your TLT shots. And if you have a choice between a Z and an A, go with the A.
