Wanted any last minute opinions or thoughts on a list running this weekend for a local tournament.

Have 6 Interceptor shots for flyers, most of the time my Dune Crawler has gotten ignored. Dominus will join with one of the Destroyers for Cognis. Two Knights are there for Death Stars and 4 Battle Cannon shots a turn. Low on model count but having 2 Knights makes up for it with being magnets for fire. Originally was going to take 3 Breachers, 3 Destroyers and another Ironstrider but decided to take a second Knight. Reason I didn't take Pater Radium is I've shot the Phosphoenix every game with good results with my Vanguard, 12 AP 2 shots is amazing. Any last minute thoughts or criticism? Thanks in advance!

Why no Lascannon on the Ballistarii?

I prefer the Skull to Raiment on the Dominus as it makes the Grav so much more effective against vehicles (like Knights).

Why is the skull of Nikola on your longest ranged infantry unit?

Why no Melta on Paladins?

Everything else looks good, first time I've seen someone go double Knight in this Formation and that might just provide the boost it needs to be competitive.

No Lascannon on the Ballistarii to keep it alive longer and not as much of threat (Mentally). Less likely to get first blooded. I always have thought Autocannons are more effective then Lascannons when you have other forms of AT. Autocannon is there for Skimmers/Light Armored IDF vehicles/Walkers. Especially with a 9" move and cognis for flyers and skimmers.

Skull of Nikola on my Rangers for Flyers, Pods or Late game extra haywire hits on vehicles. 4D6 and 5D6 adds up towards the end of the game. What other relic would I put on them?

No Melta because I was a fool and sold my first Meltagun on the Knight. Hindsight I would definitely of run duel Meltaguns. Heavy Stubbers will do there job for anti-horde and just putting out more shots. Lot of jinxing Eldar/Dark Eldar here.

It was a toss up between the Skull and Raiments on Dominus. I guess we will see. It wasn't very helpful my last two games I tested the list with. I really like cognis but maybe I just over glorify it.

Thanks for your suggestions, I am definitely working on getting another Melta gun for my other knight.

Is it 1 detachment of Knights or is the War Convocation just 1 knight? There is a difference, like the Canoptek Harvest where you can only take 1 spider, not 1 unit of spiders.

Its the Oathsworn Detachment, which is 1-3 Knights

War convocation would only give you 1 free upgraded knight not 2.

Why?

The second Knight would still get free upgrades as it is part of the formation. Very clearly states one Oathsworn Detatchment which is 1-3 Knights.

holy cow. So what is the minimum for the war convo? I am going to get the Gallant Lance with all up grades and relics.

Don't think iccarus array can get a cognis heavy stuffer can it?

You get an Oath Sworn not a Gallant Lance. But you could get 3 Gallants if you ran absolute minimums in maybe 2k not sure if you could get down to that few in 1850.

Icarus Array Onager Dune Crawler cannot get smoke launchers but, it can get a cognis heavy stubber. Minimum for a War Convocation is a Skitarii Battle Maniple, Cult Mechanicus Battle Congregation, and a Oathsworn Detatchment.

Do you face a lot of flyers where you are? you definitely have a lot of AA. Since the upgrades are free, I would switch out the AA guns on the knights for stormspear missile pods. An extra 6 krak missiles never hurt anyone. Plus you already have the Icarus array. I'd atleast switch out one of the carapace weapons for the missiles.

In my convocation, I usually prefer dragoons to the ballistari, but If I include them I usually use a unit of 3. I also like to use a Crusader as my main knight and then a paladin if I add another. The dakka a crusader put out is just amazing, plus it still has S10 AP2 in combat plus stomps. Just somethoughts. Nice list!

I face a ton of Flyers in my Meta, everyone likes flyers for some reason. Reason I have 6 shots is mainly for Troop carrying flyers or Dakka Flyers IE 3 Lascannons I want killed before they can shoot. Kinda funny to shoot down a Stormtalon, Vendetta or Valk as soon as it enters play Lots of Marines, IG, Eldar, Dark Eldar and always taking flyers and formations of flyers so yes definitely worth it.

Ironically originally I bought my second Knight to run as a Crusader in the list but in order to do that I have to drop the Vanguard to 5. Rather have the 2 D's in the list incase one gets popped first or second turn which typically happens. Every Marine player here runs Deathstars or Wolfstars. Eldar/Dark Eldar run a ton of Jetbikes. Unfortunately not enough points for Dragoons I would love nothing more than to have 3 Dragoons, infact if I ever play 2000 points I will run 4 Dragoons mainly because I love the models and fun to paint.

FlingitNow you were right, definitely going with the Lascannon on the Ballistarii next time, I will definitely take Scryerskull too. I should of definitely listened to you. The Stubbers came in really handy. How many definitelys can I have in a paragraph

I went 1/1/1, won against BA, tied Khorne Daemonkin, and lost to Necrons, mainly because I've never played them, messed up deployment and my dice were awful and his were hot. Good lessons learned. I had such a blast, definitely renewed my 40k motivation.

I am debating on Stormspear Pods. Interceptor/AA did not help much against flyers but I did not face IG, there were two at the tournament. The Stormravens I struggled against shooting even with 6 shots. Such high armor hard with str 7. Having said that I'm sure if I would of faced Talons or Valks/Vendettas I'd be thankful.

May just make the two above changes and see how it plays.
