Hey guys..

im looking to build a 1500 point army to play around with, and i want to choose between these two. I love the daemonkin models, and i love the unique blood tithe rules. But im really interested in the Dark angels lore. I love their background and history, but im not too clued up on how they play.

Im going to be playing against Admech, Tau and eldar.

Any advice on either army would help Thanks!

Look, not for anything, but if you're fighting Admech Tau and Eldar, you just picked some of the worst of the worst in terms of combating Shooti armies lol... Dont expect much fun on the tabletop, but lore wise you'll have fun. I just want you to consider saving your money and possibly enjoying something else instead of making a 500$ sink into something that will be painted up nicely and never see competitive play. =/

oh i know... unfortunately,... they're what my friends play, and crons... and i dont like vanilla marines. the only solace ive got is that with daemonkin, at least i'll get points out of lost units

Dark angels by a long shot ravenwing will have decent time against everything aside of tau.

I voted Dark Angels, because IMO they have some of the best models in the game. They seem pretty easy to start off with because of Dark Vengeance and the Dark Vengeance expansion. I don;t have the codex, but I play against Dark Angels alot, and usually its against the Biker or Terminator variety. The Biker variety is the one that gives me the most trouble just due to speed.

Khorne stuff...I just don't like most of the models personally enough to want to collect. I have a friend that runs a Khornate Daemon army, and its vicious though. Then again, he's probably the best player I play against, so I don't know whether its the army list or just that he's a really good player.

I would daemonkin purely for the looks of the model. They have some great models, and I'm tired of painting armor lol. Painting daemon flesh seems like a bunch of fun

If youre doing ravenwing, Dark Angels. If you're going to field a company, Dark Angels

If you like pure aggressive tactics and close-combat... Daemonkin. I've played the heck out of both of these factions. Both very fun and very competitive without being broken Eldar silliness.

Dark Angels, especially if you love the lore. It's uncleaar how much of a flash in the pan Daemonkin are. CSM and Daemons will likely continue in some form, but the next may be Tzeentch Daemonkin, a new CSM book or something else entirely.

DA also give you a lot of freedom in terms of army composition and allies.

I've been a Dark Angels player since 3rd edition. Really love the look of the models and the lore of the army. You have come at the right time too, as Dark Angels have got their first decent codex in a long time. There are some really strong choices in the codex as well as some decent and fluffy choices in the army.
