I'm sure there is a wiki page. Have a search for it

There's a wiki page, but it's rules and rules interactions, not a fluff wiki - which is what he was after.

Link teams work as follows, as far as I understand but I am still new to this.

You can have between 3 and 5 models in a link team. Only sectorial lists can use link teams, and unless you have a special rule you can only have 1 link team at a time.

When a order is spent on a link team, the entire link activates and uses it. However, only the model designated as the link leader may make any non-movement short skills during the active player turn. Any use of a long skill breaks the link team. During the reactive player turn the members of the link team function as normal. Also, when the unit activates the entire unit only provokes one ARO per enemy. So if your 5 member team runs across a gap and one enemy sees them he gets one shot against one of the members.

At 3 members, each models weapons gain +1 burst. This applies during active turn(when only the leader can make attacks) and reactive turn(when anyone can ARO. So basically each member can ARO with burst 2)

At 4 each member gains Sixth Sense Lv2.

At 5 members everyone gains +3BS to all BS shots.

Also, at either the beginning or the end of an order spent on a link team you may designate a new Link Leader in the unit.

Non-movement long skills break the link. Movement long skills (Jump, Climb, Assault*, etc) are fine.
Level 4 also grants +3 Discover versus camo.
Level 5 grants +3 to any BS attacks (that means Ranged Attacks) and not only ballistics skill.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

It seems silly to ask but do you have any Ghulam yet?

If you have a few combination rifle guys I would get the Ghulam special weapons set. Really handy for list building if you have few points and an SWC left over or to make up a cheap but effective link team.

They aren't the sexiest thing in the Haqq force but an essential I think.

Yeah I've got some ghulam, but don't have the specialist box yet, is the azrael worth getting and is it possible to do an all jannisary force, love the models. Also it is worth getting those heavy flamer fellas, are heavy flamers good?

I can't answer regarding the unit, but the weapon? Yeah, it's really good. The large template combined with increase damage and fire effect is very good. Add to this that this will also solve one of the problems Haqq tends to have - ODD and TO camo. Having ODD specifically and camo generally downgraded to Mimetism is very good. No re-cloaking and only -3 from optical distortions.

Looking over their profile... they are Celestial Guard with a Rifle instead of a Combi and a heavy flamethrower. I see no reason what so ever not to include at least two in a list.

Who do I murder to get them included in Imperial Service?

Looking at these miniatures, even if the rules for them were rubbish they would still be a good purchase!

But, as it happens they are handy on the battlefield. Great for defensive work against infiltrators and the like, and of course Tohaa and Aleph Myrmidons, for whom these guys are the boogeymen.

Given how the Marauder and Minuteman have huge amounts of armor but are still the same armor 3 of the grunts I think visual armor means nothing for some reason.

Yeah its an odd one, got to say this game is severely lacking in fluff, cb really needs to start releasing novels etc. I'd be all over that.

Yes the TAG is nice, on a model that size 360 LoF cuts off a lot of the field, and SF can be brutal. But, the model itself is do for a massive rescuplt. From a armored beetle to a weapon heavy looking scorpion, same stats dispite the look (but that could change when finally released). It will be awhile, as they said the model will need to be a different type of casting, and the need to figure that out then learn it.

Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

It's probably more bulky for "fire protection" than bullet impacts.

For PanO, Croc-men have more armour on them than fusiliers do - but have the same value (I guess heavily armoured boots just means they move through terrain better?)

Yeah Naffatun are bulky because they're in fire protective gear. They're close up incendiary troops. Take a look at modern fire fighters, give them some combat armour on top, and a sci fi sheen, and you've got the new Naffatun.

My mates a fire fighter... And you know what, I'm gonna get hi. To dress in my armour and put his suit on...for science of course lol.

But that actually makes sense, maybe they should have some sort of benefit then, immunity to burn wouldn't be too op?
