I keep wondering about this since they are fairly new and I haven't read fluff with them in it

Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"

They increase the effect of gravity on the target, causing the target to be crushed by the vastly increased weight of whatever it is wearing. This is why it wounds based on the armor save of the target (2+ save means it's wounded on a 2+ because the armor is so thick/heavy to begin with).

The AP is so low because the wearer is literally crushed to death by his own armor/equipment that he's wearing.

At least, that's how I understand it to work.

Hope that helps. Take it easy.

They intensify the gravity around an object and crush it with its own weight.

Well that took so long to post that I got ninja'd

I thought they caused a gravity-well at the exact point they were aiming at so you essensially imploded because of your armour

I like to think that a larger sized weapon of the graviton technology would be the perfect weapon for use in destroying hostile controlled planets without running its landscape and natural resources.

Think about it. Just increase the gravity 20-30 times more than it already is on the planet and you've killed everyone there just by the sudden change in pressure alone. Hell even if it wasn't enough to kill them they'd be helplessly pinned to floor and unable to move as you call in precise orbital strikes on them.

Turning a planets own gravity against it. Yep definitely storing that away for a short story or something.

How does a Guards men T-Shirt cause it to implode on it's wearer? LOL.

Off topic, how does a Guards man T-Shirt give a better save then chintenous bones give a better armour save than a Nid?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

"Better" is not the right words. "Not as horrible" is better

They don't literally wear just t-shirts. They use flak armor

The original incarnation of the weapon in Rogue Trader slowed the target down. If they were slowed enough they were immobilised and combat ineffective as they lay there struggling to breathe in their localised gravity well. Does the new incarnation work that way too, or does the new fluff actually reference implosion?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

It doesn't explode it crumples up the affected targets armor crushing them with their own weight.

It shoots a green plasma like projectile out of a focusing lens from the front of the gun.

Next it hits the target, crushing the occupant of the armour with his own protection. It directly tries to kill the inhabitant while ignoring the armour, thus making it AP 2.
