This really caught my eye and I'll be backing it for sure.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gbg/folklore-the-affliction-0

Folklore the Affliction is a dark fantasy role playing board game for 1-5 players that does not require a game master. Adventure in a land steeped in fear, myth and superstition. Hunt or be hunted by creatures of antiquity and legend. Explore dangerous locales to find clues to the sources of evil sinking claws into the heart of the land, and decimating the populace. Defend the weak from the scourge of witchcraft and the demonic, the taint of lycanthropy and vampirism. Advance through highly immersive stories of epic scale with multi-layer character development in an on-going quest to drive the darkness back into the hell from which it came.

One of things that makes Folklore:The Affliction unique is the storytelling element that weaves the game together. Decisions made by the players change the story and fork the destiny of the outcomes in each adventure. This Intense story telling and combat action pits you against your most frightening foes with strategy building both on and off the battlefield, resource management, power consumption and item creation. Will you accept this quest to purge evil from this land?

FEATURES

Cooperative play for 1-5 players
Adventure through a dark fantasy/horror role playing environment that will require working together to use the best group strategy for defeating the Afflictions and earning the best gear. The adventure intensity scales to match the number of players in your session. Protect yourself and your friends. Beware the powers of darkness which can make your friends become infected with lycanthropy or vampirism or become possessed.

Immersive RPG style feel without a GM
With all the great games that have come before, immersive play often requires a Game Master, but in Folklore the Affliction, all the players cooperate as characters in the story! Everyone gets to play. The Narrative and intuitive creature AI challenges the players to use their gear and ingenuity to succeed or fail and ultimately steer the path of the adventure.

Tactical miniature combat
During exploration, your characters will be challenged by their environment and engage in dangerous miniatures-based combat as well as non-miniatures based skirmishes. Characters battle in intuitive strategic combats and locales that require interaction even during combat. Who will hold off the Wraith in combat while another character races to the sarcophagus to close the lid? Will you choose to pull a lever while battling an undead horde in order to trap the rest of their forces behind a portcullis?

Character development
Choose your character's focus and profession, gear them up for adventure and combat, and customize then the way you choose by assigning advancement points and purchasing abilities and items.

Immersive storylines
Each game session is like playing through a dark fantasy/horror novel or movie. The narrative immerses the players as they make game-changing choices and interactions that can alter the course of the storyline and determine the outcome and the path toward victory.

Campaign style play
Completing a story is not the end. Advance your characters, gain weapons, artifacts, companions, and abilities and bring them into the next story with all their gear. Customize each character your way as they advance by spending points in the skills and abilities you choose.

Death is only the beginning
If you have a fatality, you are not out of the game, you instead play on as your ghost with ethereal ghostly powers to rise up against evil from beyond the veil.

Find companions
Gain or hire the townsfolk and the animals in this hell-oppressed place and lead them into the darkness as you face the evils that threaten to devour you all.

This is what they said back then:

"Oct 29 2014

Hello backers and supporters of Folklore: The Affliction!

On our short journey in launching this Kickstarter project we have received so many great suggestions and we think that we can make this game even more awesome. In addition, when we launched Folklore, we did not plan to offer the game to international backers and would very much like to be able to do so appropriately. We apologize that we will be removing Folklore: The Affliction from Kickstarter with plans for making some needed adjustments.

We have heard from so many wonderful supporters out there, and you have our sincerest thanks."

It also looks like they have taken some pages out of CMONs book. The last KS was a confusing mess with tons of different pledge levels and a very short and amateurish description. This new one has two pledge levels and looks super professional.

Oh, perfect! Thanks for that, Mymearan.

Nice to see these changes happen for the betterment of the project and not because it wasn't doing well.

Looks pretty cool.

Will check it out when I have time today. Big difference from the first campaign (and for the better).

Looks quite good, do we know what material they are using for the miniatures?

Did anyone bid on their previous miniature kickstarter?

I would assume board game plastic. As for miniature quality, I did a quick google on their previous games and it seems they aren't in the same league as CMON, but ok gaming pieces. Who knows though, they certainly could've improved a lot since then.

Yeah, as far as I know these guys have a good rep (anyone know otherwise?).
The sculpts for a lot of this (if not all) are already done from a previous Kickstarter for resin figures. This time around the focus is on gameplay. The beta rules are up in Update 16.

Yeah. I think it's worth mentioning, even if you back only at the miniature level.. The add-on for the alternate color models includes ALL of the miniature SGs. The image is not reflective of the contents. I asked that in the comments yesterday or the day before and had the creator confirm. Currently miniature only + ghosts = figures at less than $1 each. Not sold on the bigger critters but I guess that's what Bones are for.

Vermis, I understand their BG plastic is pretty close to CMoN if that helps.
They did a kickstarter for resin versions of at least a few of these but I'm not sure where to pick those up. Either way, for less than $1 each, I'm as happy with boardgame plastic as I am with Bones PVC.

I can vouch for their board game plastics- Greenbriar did the figures for the Fairy Tail Battle Royale kickstarter, which came out really nice (if a little bigger than I expected).

I've got some I can post pictures of if you guys are worried about quality.

So if I remember correctly, pledging at the 150 level gets me the character, the extra tan version of the character, and a ghost version of the character as well, right?

The new update has a lot going on. I'm going to post some pictures and a link. They talk about overhauling the items with art (not sure what else), a new set of maps with docks and a graveyard, and a pack of 10 new elite critters (stat cards to use your extra models as beefed up versions).

Again.. read the update because there is a lot mentioned and the graphics might be taken out of context without reading the full description.

Okay, some (semi) clarification on that last post I did. Other backers are saying the additional content is in fact part of the core. A lot of other BGs would have that as an add-on expansion, so the value keeps getting crazier and crazier.
Honestly, I kinda want them to throw out a few more paid add-ons (is that weird?).

Quick photo of some Fairy Tail figures. These were made by the Greenbriar folks for another game. A good deal larger than the average Warmachine & Hell Dorado figures I had there- probably closer to 35mm.

From left to right I think that's Beowulf, The Mad Hatter, Robin Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, Mulan, and the Woodsman.

If you view it in my gallery you can zoom in to see the details. Not sure how to do that here.

That wolf really looks like Folklore's werewolf I think. Very similar.

Keep in mind also they have HUGE bases. Those things are thick (and also individualized as well). For baddies I don't think this will be a huge issue, but for player characters, I don't know how well they'll integrate into other games if Folklore's figures are as large as these (and if you're a stickler about scale issues).

Hope that helps.

These are photos of the PVC one from Fairytale Sacred 40, the other from Yashima and their resin counterparts which are being done as part of the Fantasy Resin Custom Miniatures Collection Kickstarter.

I want to like the game and back but I have some concerns. They have started to build one Kickstarter on the backs of others. Now that is completely speculation, there is a lot of 'partnerships' with other game designers so it could just be a bunch of independents coming together. My concern is they are adopting a CMoN type where as one KS project is almost delivered, another one launches. That in itself wouldn't be too bad but they still haven't fully completed delivery of one of them, now I could be wrong but most of them are in Wave 1 shipping and some haven't shipped yet.

Ninja Dice Kage Masters
- Kickstarter Ended: 03/26/2015
- Estimated Delivery: Nov 2015
- Status: Not delivered, still in production just finished final ok on October 25, 2015 update.

Zpocalypse 2: Defend the Burbs
- Kickstarter Ended: 08/13/2015
- Estimated Delivery: Jun 2016
- Status: Unknown

Fantasy Resin Custom Miniatures Collection
- Kickstarter Ended: 05/28/2015
- Estimated Delivery: Oct 2015
- Status: Production run almost completed, final samples shown of production resin miniatures on last update.

Now we add Folklore: The Affliction which ends soon and a lot of outstanding projects. I'm usually ok providing there is a history of actual completed delivery with overlapping Kickstarters. My limit tends to be 1-2 overlapping Kickstarters and usually they are in the final process of shipping, containers on a boat, waiting to clear customs but there are way too many ongoing Kickstarters for me to back this.

I'm also not a fan of having multiple companies or accounts spreading out the Kickstarters. I don't even know the status but I'm assuming they are completed but there was a Zpocalypse, Ninja Dice, Zpocalypse Aftermath, Heavy Steam and Yashima under a different Greenbrier Games account.

There is also the Kickstarters under Alexander Lim and Artistic Justice Games for Dragon Tides, Fairytale Games and Fairytale Battle Royale. If I recall Wave 1 completed for those except for Dragon Tides as well.

Dark Severance
Considering we're talking about sub $1, that level of detail should be fine!

As for your views on the delivery etc. I don't have a problem with that method. Especially since one of the games you listed seemed to be a dice game. The other is a primary source for models for this and is resin miniatures. I have backed a few projects from companies that didn't have a track record and they stalled out badly to the point of 2+ year windows. GBG though, does not seem like the fly by night operation you appear to be painting them to be.

The main account that I see is Jeff Gracia: Greenbrier Games. That one funded Yashima, Zpocalypse, Heavy Steam, Ninja Dice, Zpocalypse Aftermath, Zpocalypse Survival.

I can see why they would stop using that account. Greenbrier Games is a company. Having their products on a Kickstarter account that has a specific person's name in the title makes no sense. If he leaves the company then what? Plus it just looks more professional. Unfortunately, to my knowledge, Kickstarter doesn't allow people to edit the name as a creator, meaning they have to create a new account if they want to alter it (in this case a good call IMO).

It "sounds" kinda like you're trying to make a business decision that makes good business sense sound like something sinister and I'm not sure why. These guys have a track record that I'm comfortable doing business with.

I'm not saying the business is something sinister. I'm saying that they are spreading themselves thinly as seen by having to add more Kickstarters for funding before completing others. Now granted that is my opinion but it is something to be wary about and I'm talking as a backer, not of Folklore but of their other projects. As a backer communication usually comes in once another project has started and then it fades away. Granted there isn't a lot to report but these are flags to be wary and consider. I'm not in with just a $1 at least with Folklore, I'm in for over $600 on outstanding projects when you combine my backing on their projects that have yet to be delivered and these aren't dice projects... these are all miniature game projects.

Projects I've backed so far from them:
Fairytale Games: The Battle Royale - Wave 1 only delivered, sacred 40 miniatures, rest not completed and still in doing proofs and part production. 1 year, 8 months late.
Fairytale Games: The Miniatures Campaign - Not delivered or fulfilled yet. Slightly over a 1 year late.
Yashima - Wave 1 only delivered, rest not completed and still in production. 3 months late.
Dragon Tides - Not delivered or fulfilled yet. 1 month late, just went into production.

There are 4 miniatures games that are still also going on (including Folklore), not counting the projects that are still late. It is one thing to have 1-2 Kickstarters overlapping like CMoN and Mantic have done but it is starting to get more and more. I haven't been happy with the communication which lulls unless a new project is starting and then they spam all the projects, but then selectively respond to comments. It isn't sinister but it also isn't a healthy sign and it is for those red flags that I chose not to back. Again I'm not saying that it is something sneaky, but there is a marketing behind the decisions for business reasons that borders 'used car salesman' technique. Since I'm already in for hundreds, I'm not risking more until they start fully delivering.

Again to be clear I posted the image to show the quality of the miniatures, which isn't too bad. Although the sacred 40 aren't as good as I would have liked. However they have improved the techniques with their partnerships with each other as I've seen in Yashima and some of the Dragon Tides production versions. Anyone is welcome to back them, I'm just providing information as a long time backer of their projects and reasons why I didn't back. It is the same reasons I didn't back the resin fantasy project, even though I really wanted too because the resin versions look good. However I'm already invested more than I'm willing to risk at the moment.

Just remember that Dragon Tides and the Fairy Tail games are from a TOTALLY SEPARATE COMPANY.

That's Artistic Justice, run by Alex Lim. He came to Greenbriar to get the figures done for his game, since Greenbriar had been having success getting all their Zpocalypse stuff sculpted in 3D.

Greenbriar helped them out, but that's still a whole other company's issue.
