Last night I started painting a Stormcast Eternal to practice NMM Gold as a test, as well as did the best face I've done to date (full sized originals and crops because dang heads are smaller than I though):

Good table top quality at least.

Campaign army progress. 10 daemonettes remain and i have 60 total.

This is all contrast paint with drybrush of palid flesh.

Ooo, never seen blonde daemonettes before.

I've got all kinds. I painted a good chunk of them dark skinned as well. I like the mix.

Nice to see them not purple! Not that I mind it but a lot of the demon armies tend to stick true to their "official" colour schemes a lot!

Yeah I just can't do that lol. Purple daemonettes do nothing for me. I wanted these to be based on human flesh since they are supposed to be temptresses and all and purple flesh only works on star trek lol

Is it just me or do the proportions seem off?

It looks like the legs are too short because you can see the division of resin vs plastic. His "belt" looks more like parts of the legs once primed:



Also, it gives a better idea of scale.

The belt versus robe distribution is better noticeable here.

Not much of a progress report so much as it is a notice that I've finally gotten off my butt and got back to work on my sylvaneth.



Thats 16 dryads block colored, washed, then drybrushed and I Think I'll build up the rest of them to that standard before proceeding with the next steps: painting the leaves, touching up the eyes and mouth with a little camoshade, laying down striland mud, adding water effects and foliage, before moving on to more singular models.

Did some more work on the Gitz. Finished the Squigs. Moving onto the Loonboss on Cave Squig

No actual AoS projects, but, I am actually looking at getting into the game.

Been researching factions because of Warcry and I got to say, FEC has me hooked. I like their background and can easily come up with an idea for a small warband to start.

So far what I have.

Warband: The Congression of Tooth and Nail

Leader: The holy knight of Tooth and Nail, the crusader paladin, Foulmaw.

I decided to revisit my Maggotkin and do some more painting on my Putrid Blightkings. Haven't touched them in months. While painting them, the color scheme I decided to use gave me the thought that they would be from Chamon, the Realm of Metal, since I was going for a very corroded/rusty feel rather than the typical Nurgle greens or bones.

WIP but they are pretty much done other than basing:

Currently I have a Skirmish/Hinterlands warband in the idea stages, which will be Fyreslayers in general, but with some twists to break up the lack of Fyreslayer unit variety (so it's not just a wall of half-naked Dwarfs with different weapons, lol). The core will be a box of the Chosen Axes, with a smattering of other Berzerkers or Hearthguard for reinforcement, but the twist is going to be some allied-in Sylvaneth rethemed to something more of a Duardin "feel" - namely, fire.

First up will be a box of Spite Revenants, but with the Aelven soul painted like glowing fire, and the bark painted in layers of grey and black, with glowing reds and oranges in some of the recesses. I was going to call them "Cinderkin". They are essentially lesser fire elementals that exist freely on Aqshy, but for protection against cooler environments they are welcomed into Fyreslayer forges, to inhabit bodies made of the charcoal provided for them.

For a heavy hitter (or two) I'm going have a counts-as figure using a Runewars Rune Golem on a round 50mm base, using the profile of a Kurnoth Hunter with Greatword (example below is not my paintjob). Just a standard Stone Golem, enhanced with Ur-Gold runes.

Finished those Blightkings. My lightbox doesn't seem to want to show the details even with a white backdrop, so I had to use flash on the camera phone to pick out the details. Happy with them, though.

Finished my Loonbosses. The picture makes the purple one look almost black, but it's much more purple in real life. My friends are telling me to do a dry brush to make it lighter. However, I'm worried I'll mess it up and contrast paints suck to touch up.

Awesome stuff everyone. The weather is nice and it seems everyone is inside painting (as am I )

I worked a bit further on my city of ash, finished it now. based some stuff for praticality and I made volcano (there is a light in the cloud, but you cannot see it due to the white back ground)









I also pimped my khorne army to fit the current edition with some necessary gadgets:

I really like what you did with the azyrite ruins there. Khorne stuff looks great too.

Decided to paint the Feculent Gnarlmaw today. It was a bit hard with my Chamon theme since it's all wood, being a tree, and my wood style is a very dark brown, drybrushed with silver so it has a metal sheen, then dirtying it up and adding rust splotches.

I'm pretty happy with it though. Just a few more minor details like adding corrosion effects.

A full unit of Myrmourn banshees also joins the army! 


Also, now that my balewind vortex is finished, all the endless spells usable by death, have been finished! Crazy how all of this was released in a year by GW.

Wow man, really impressive suite of big chunky spell effects. Love how cohesive they are all with that blue ... and/or how bloody the blood ones are Excellent work as always.
