Basing this on what still has a 6th ed book...

Tyranids
Astra militarum
Chaos space marines
Chaos daemons (or are they changing this the daemon kin?)

And if you pray really hard to the emperor you still won't get sisters of battle.

No reason there can't be a new Lord of Change coming out though, or any of the other Greater Daemons.

The only reason they came out with the new Bloodthirster was for the end times. So the likeliness of another great deamon of same scale coming out is not great.

Aren't the Tao like the best, most balanced army in the game?

I've read rumors of bugs in the first part of 2016. /shrug I expect 8th edition to drop this year. Groundless theory, and pure speculation on my part. Just feels like something GW would do.

The csm book was listed as out of stock no longer available last I heard. Which is fair, I feel like it's a tie at this point between them and AM who needs it most.

In a perfect world we'll see CSM, AM, Nids, Orks, then bump SW and BA into standard marine codex-land.

Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

But this is not a perfect world. This is a GW fapfan world where flavours of massive muscular Mary Sue's violate everything else with bolter fire.

That's because GW hasn't run out of it yet.

What, you think they'd pull the book if there was still a chance someone could unknowingly pick one up and make them money?

It doesn't make sense to do a full print run of a book they'll be releasing in a month. It does make sense (scummy scummy sense) to continue selling back stock of that product until the second the new one was released just in case one of your customers isn't tuned into the labyrinthine depths of your leak-based entirely secretive development grapevine.

I don't understand why they update a codex that doesn't need help as it is before updating some of the codex's that need major overhauls.

Because they update codexes based upon who they think is likely to buy models, not who needs help in the game. They don't give a feth about the game.

Chaos Space Marines are in the greatest need of an update, and they have been rumored for a long time now. We've only just started hearing things about Tyranids. I'd say that we can expect CSM first, followed by Tyranids.

With GW's current release schedule, the only definitive answer is "we don't know". December could be the dawning of a new age of Chaos, or it could be February or March. There just isn't anything concrete at this point. All that we do know right now is that Tau are the next army to be updated.

Which is actually funny, because afaiac CSM has always been one of the best selling ranges of 40k, despite rules and most of the model line having been neglected for a decade.

If I had to bet I'd say Tyranids are next in line, but I'm terrible at betting. It won't likely happen before 2016 in any case.

Progress is like a herd of pigs: everybody is interested in the produced benefits, but nobody wants to deal with all the resulting gak.

GW customers deserve every bit of outrageous princing they get.

Being a Chaos player, my money is hedging on Tyranids first, followed by IG, and then GW abandoning the current game before they get to Chaos.

Chaos Marines especially are at the point where pretty much our entire model line bar the Raptors/Warptalons + Hellbrute + newer Daemon engines needs to be thrown in the trash bin and overhauled from the ground up.
I highly doubt GW will take the time or risk on such a venture, especially as Little Timmy is perfectly happy how his Speesh Mhureens currently kick the living crap out of Chaos with 0 effort.

8th ed: new USR:

After both sides have deployed, opponents of BA may smash all BA models with a hammer before game play starts. Only those models with 50% or more of their pieces still glued together may be used in the game. BA opponent automatically seizes initiative. If BA opponent wins game, all BA models go into the nearest waste receptacle.

I'm sure Jervis and the boys will think that's perfectly balanced.

Pretres rumour accuracy thread has it as:

Chaos (possibly Tzeentch-esque) Xmas 2015.
Nids or IG Q1 2016 (likely Nids first however).
Orks somewhere therafter.

Obviously still pending.

Well we have a few 6th Edition Dexes left:
Chaos (Marines and Daemons)
Nids and IG (both came out right before 7th edition)
Inquisition
Sisters

Chaos and Sisters are in dire need of some update but we all know how GW feels about these armies.
IG and Nids need some work to help them but it seems too soon for Nids given they had a 2014 release AND had a wave of models released in Q3/4 2014.
Personally I am 100% happy if GW leaves the Inquisition as is for the next year or two but knowing my luck they will sneak an Inq update in January 2016, take out the same bloody nerf bat they took to the GK, and start working on their power swings at the expense to my Xenos Inquisitor's Retinue.

Also they are called Tau, Fish People, anime fan Space Commies, Blue Gits, or the Destroyers of the Grimdark Fluff. Not Tao

Problem with that Nid release was that there were some really cool models and ideas but they literally sucked so badly rules-wise.
I could invisage a Nid release comprising of only the codex (with a really decent rules rewrite if possible) and 1-3 new kit releases. Shrikes/Warriors, Ravener models and a terrain kit.
Jobs done.
-> All those malceptors, haruspexes and toxicrenes suddenly sell well (and at 50+ quid a kit, GW roll in it......).

100% agree but this is GW we are talking about who seem to think that only 20% of the customer base play the game and that they are a miniatures company and not a game company. Also GW's market analysis/research is probably done in the same room that they do their editing and keep their toilets.
