I've got a lot of commissars, and need to paint roughly eleven of the little hatters for December... So here's the first couple I've completed.

Commissar Yorkie:

I would like to redo that power sword at some point, the metallics were a quick stand-in after a clumsy friend scraped him down a desk.

Self Portrait:

Colour-scheme based on this avatar that I usually inhabit:
Spoiler:

Tally ho.

Nice work.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Hardly surprised but still slightly sad to see a lack of the little pink heart on the model. Great work though, and I wish you good luck with the rest of them.

If by "appear", you mean "frequently damages"...
I own two cats and a kitten, and they have collided with more of my figures than I'd care to recall. Drunk painty water. Flipped pots onto the floor...

One is about 14lb of bone and muscle, and he forgets this before trying to navigate my shelves.

Do you count the self portrait for two commissars? Also, why 11?

One of my infantry squads is made up of commissars.
So there's 9 lasguns, one "sergeant" (female commissar so my opponent can fairly see which) and the accompanying commissar.

The idea is commissar cadets as they're 80s/90s figures and shorter than the current heroic scale GW figures, they look a lot like teenagers.

There'll also be two riding my Tauros jeep, so technically 13..

I have a KR foam tray that's full of only hatters. Thankfully a couple are actually painted already when I adopted them, so if I am truly stuc for time, I can sub in some groovy 90s guys.

I genuinely forgot. I was going to replace the little medal with it, but ended up using the silver as provided.

Yorkie will make up for it with his tank.

No worries Matthew, it's good fun.
I just hope I can get some serious painting done as well, and show I'm not all about the daft ones. I'm very embarrassed the Self portrait is garnering fond attention, because I'm unsure if it's because of the joke or the painting.

There is not this idea.

The painting is great, and I think it's also getting attention because the tiny commisar being painted is adorable.
