So I know sisters are not allowed to have nice things but, why can't they wear terminator armor? I mean inquisitors can...

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

because the one sister that was a Terminator was an awful movie.

Real reason? No clue but that is a good question and now I want termie sisters.

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.

Has nothing to do with it.

Its because the Ecclesiarchy isn't that wealthy. They can afford power armor for everyone because that is relatively easy to acquire in human sizes, but TDA would be way too much for them. Only Inquisitors really have the clout to get their own personal suits, which will be custom made for them. Marines get the other few suits that are produced.

I dunno. I'm SURE the Ecclesiarchy could spring for or be gifted a set or two for a Cannoness or something.

I think its suppose to be because of the general scarcity of Terminator armor. I imagine even when the random Inquisitor has a suit its something that took effort to acquire and probably took knowing a senior enough Mechanicus Magos to have it fitted to them. The Mechanicus and Ecclesiarchy are generally at odds and probably keeps rarer technology at arms reach from them.

That said if SoB got a heavier armored infantry I've always thought Centurion armor would be more appropriate. They'd kinda have that mini-Pentitent engine thing going for them in that way.

They have Artificer Armor according to the lore. Not sure if they do in the tabletop. But seriously, Artificer Armor and Power Field/Rosario is better than Terminator Armor.

I imagine it has something to do with the fact that Sisters don't have the Black Carapace implant, so instead of the armor being a literal extension of themselves it would be a body-shaped tank. Possible, but most likely too cumbersome to use very effectively.

It doesn't stop Inquisitors.

Basically, they don't have Terminator armour because the intention of the Sisters of Battle army was for a core of short-ranged assault troops in powered armour backed up by a rabble. I don't think Jes wanted them to simply be seen as female Space Marines.

I'm not saying the lack of Carapace completely stops them from using/wearing terminator armor, just that it might be more hassle than it's worth for widespread use. I know some inquisitors use it, as others have said, but just like Sisters get somewhat less benefits from power armor than a space marine, so too would the benefits of terminator armor be less but likely the difference would be even bigger due to the nature of the heavier armor.

Though, having a Canoness wear a Terminator suit wouldn't be too out of the realm of possibilites I think. They are leaders of an Order anyway.

The correct answer is combination of two above.
GW doesn't make models for it because it covers up their boobs.

Rare armor. Different jobs. The original purpose for terminator armor was storming ships and taking the fire from defenders. This is typically a marine job, only rarely would sisters be taking part in this. Marines are shock troops, sisters are more guardian types and will take the offensive against heretics, they aren't really an assault force. Your typical heretics do not have the firepower of say an opposing ship's defenders to deal with. Thus marines get the few suits that trickle out of the forge worlds.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Amusingly enough, Sisters are more equipped for shock troops than for guardian type duties.

Termie armour is supposed to be very old relics within the chapters and does it perhaps predate the creation of the SOBs?

In other words they don't wear it because they simply don't have any...inquisitors basically can requisition anything they like (although I doubt an SM chapter would really freely give over a set of termie armour)

More than likely, the answer is "because GW hadn't thought of it yet and GW hasn't worked on giving Sisters new miniatures since the 90s."

This. Jes actually has a vision for what he creates. He's probably the last guy at the company who understands that the GW IP is more than just a means to make a buck.

It is basically this, sisters have not had a new sculpt in a very long time, so that is biggest reason. If new models came out would probably get sisters in terminator armor.

2003 actually, rather than 'the 90s'. We did get new models with Codex: Witch Hunters.

Sisters could wear Terminator Armour, but I suspect that it treads too close to revealing them as a dedicated military force rather than the Shrinekeeper / Internal Affairs unit they're disguised as.

They can't because they haven't made models of them wearing Terminator armor. Inquisitors can wear it, so it's not because they're not post-humans.

I think it's because terminator suits are very rare. Sure an Inquisitor can gain access t one but that's one human with the ability and influence to end and entire world at his/her command. Sisters on the other hand are glorified body guards of shrines and temples.

I wouldn't call the Sororitas 'glorified', lol. They are serious badasses in their own right.

Because Terminator armor is expensive. Hence why just Space Marines and certain inquisitors have them.

Not much explanation needs to be done outside of that.

I actually tend to think this is a primary reason. GW doesn't do good female heads and that would be the only way to tell them apart since they don't have giant boobs sticking out. In the 20 or so years I've been collecting GW stuff I can only think of a few female models that actually had decent looking heads. I think it's to do with the exaggerated scale and chunky artistic style they've chosen, a chunky male face just looks like a chunky male face, a chunky female face at often looks like a dude and at worst just looks derpy.

Having a female model without boobs would go against the GW style where females just look like males with boobs
