Yaaaay a blanket buff to the army that makes the strong things stronger and doesn't fix gak...

I love how they took the kroots most useless feature (stealth forests when there isn't even any rules for forests anywhere in the 7th ed rules) and made it the entirety of the bone that got thrown to the auxiliaries.

No sarcasm at all, because it is stupid. i'm happy there's more codexes that can face down eldar. SM and DA should have been at this power level, but they were decent.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen if the traditionally crapdexes will get the eldar or the cruddace treatment. CSM, orks and tyranids has seen 1 good codex max (0 for orks).

I'd only clap if those didn't turn into cruddexes.

i actually like the new stormsurge and gohstkeel but all my friends say there broken as gak so i cant use them or they actually wont play with me...

Depends on the MC, the fact that the Stormsurge only is T6 with a 3+ armor save (not bad but not super amazing) to me makes me feel that around 400+ points that is pointed up pretty well.

It's not that I won't play against Taucurion forces, rather, there's simply no point for Chaos players to even attempt to play against Taucurion. Maybe if you've got IA:13 and a bunch of the better FW models/rules, but most Chaos players don't have those.
Even Daemons are going to get murdered by these new Tau...

For certain armies, I can't really say I blame them for not wanting to face anything designed under a Decurion/Gladius/Hunter Cadre set-up. The power gap is simply too monstrous to be denied, and there's nothing fun about simply watching your entire army evaporate within a couple turns, which Hunter Cadre lists are most definitely capable of doing.

Well how does K: DK hold up? It's part of the new paradigm, and I'm sure any future Chaos codexes will follow this model.

You mean the book that didn't fix jack all for Chaos Marines, leaving them with all the same, current huge problems they've been suffering from?

Daemonkin is fun sure, but it's still a Chaos book that fixed 0 problems Chaos armies face, and traded away our psychic dominance for Tithe pts... It's solid against pre-Necron codex books, but it gets turned into road kill by even just basic CAD built 7.5 books, despite being a 7.5ed codex itself.

Serious: Here's my take on the Stormsurge being allowed in units of three.

The ITC currently allows a single duplicate formation to be taken. Under this format, Eldar can take two Wraithknights. We all know how criminally undercosted the Wraithknights are and how hard they are for a majority of armies to deal with. For its cost and statline, the Stormsurge is appropriately costed, being over 400 points with upgrades. If the ITC allows two of an undercosted Gargantuan Creature, I see no problem with allowing three of one that is appropriately costed.

Sarcasm: Curse you Recius! You've single-handedly destroyed the entire ITC format by letting Tau take three superheavies in an army, something no other army or faction can do!

Perhaps, but then that would be about 2400 points, which is way over how most people play. They'll probably cap it at 1 squad though.

I don't see how daemons would get wrecked by the new tau. These guys seem like they're all about stopping cover saves armor saves and shutting down slow walking assaulters.

A rerollable 2++ Screamerstar would go through them like a hot knife through butter.

Please. One nova'd shieldtide with fnp can keep that unit locked for the whole game, while the rest of the army voltrons up to table the rest of your army. 9 swings of str5 ap2 deal a whopping 0.4 wounds to a riptide. Their normal attacks deal even less. All of your heralds might bring that up to a wound a turn. And guess what you don't have? Hit and run. Drones plus balesword Herald could handle it, but no. lol.

If All codexes were of a roughly equal power and had some sembalance of equally useful units within them the game and the game environment would be a much better place............

I won't play them cause the XV8s are far too static and outdated, the ankels are notorious for breakages and they have a stocky squat look due to the age which isn't supported by the artwork of them which makes them look nice and why I would want to play them at all. I've bothered modifying some before to make them look better and while the end results have been nice there's no way I'd do that for an entire force of them.
