Don't put things like that in writing, you will only give GW ideas.
Personally I think the Lizard Men models are some of the more interesting ones that GW did for Fantasy. Repacking them in AoS branded boxes with round bases and data sheets is a pretty obvious beneficial move, and I can't see why people should complain (specifically about that... I fully understand why people complain about prices and so on on generally with GW, but that's a separate topic.)
New "battle tome" (i.e. arrny book) for £30 is in line with current GW pricing, though double what it ought to be.

Mmm, I smell the price increase. Good thing there's no trace of the of the old prices except in the memories of those who remember them. Then again, as Orwell wrote, memories are mutable so an year from now they'll always have been priced this much

You. I like you
Also, I almost willing to bet those repacks will bring less models. Almost.

It is not impossible seeing how they were on identical sprues (warriors and skinks at least) of 5 (I think). If they remove 10 models this will bring the squad to its warscroll defined strength.

It is testimony to how jaded I am to GW when I say that, if the info on those sprues is right, I can definitely see it coming.

Are there price increases? So far we've seen either same or lower price, surprising if they're going the other way.

I will admit to not knowing the previous pricing for the lizzies, as I never really cared much about them (playing only HE and all) so I don't exactly know if it's a price increase per se.
All that I know is that those are the new prices.

Since there haven't been any price increases so far, there's no reason to suspect there will be now. Has anyone done a comparison?

Just before they removed them from the store Saurus Warriors were 20 quid, for example. Near the end of 2013 I can remember them being 18 quid (I'm not 100% sure but let's say 90% and leave some margin for error). From the current pound/dollar ration I can see that they have been priced at 24-25 pounds now. The models themselves are not that new and suffer from the old mold issues. If I'm right, I'm looking at 7 pounds increase in 2 years for the same models...
Temple Guard were certainly NOT 35 quid! They were 20 or 25 before their removal from the store. I can do other comparisons, but these two are enough.

Model for current repacks appears to be either no difference or increased model count at a higher price but a lower price per model.

Heh... Though I do hope (against hope) that they keep everything as it was, I don't think we can count on GW following standard operating procedures for longer than say... a month.

I have one of the White Dwarfs from when they released the Lizardman army (Aug 2013). Here are the prices listed in that:
Codex USA $49.50
Lizardman Battalion (50 models) US $110
Carnosaud US $85
Bastiladon US $60
Terradon Riders (3 models) USA $60
Tetto'eko US $50
Skink Priest US $20
Gor-rok US $25

Do you think they will repack warriors and guard in boxes of 30 and 20 respectively?

This proves that my calculations are not correct then as I'm comparing with UK prices. Apparantly they are different.

At 38$ and 55$ respectively? I find it very, very doubtful.

I tend to play AoS at minimum unit sizes, so I find these boxes to be a bit weird. For instance, the Saurus Warriors have a minimum of 10 models, so a box gets you two units. But Skinks are a minimum of 10, so you get two units with 4 left over. Even worse, Skinks get a horde bonus at 30 models (leaving you 6 short). The Saurus Knights have a minimum unit of 5, but there are 8 in the box. And when you summon the Saurus Calvary, if you roll an 11 or better, you can set up a unit of 10 models.
So either the Seraphon battletome is going to change some rules or GW didn't put much thought into the repacks. Still, I'm in. I've wanted Lizardmen for so long...

The old Battalion had:
12 skinks
20 warriors
10 Temple guard
8 saurus cavalry
It may be the case that the repackaged boxes use the same sprues.

Looks like the Guard/Warriors got the Dryads/Skullcrushers treatment of lower price per model in a bigger box. I like that trend. Despite the constant assuming of it to be, there have been zero price hikes in repackaged stuff, and I think it's clear they're not going to do that for any old models.

The answer is simple, all that has been done is to pack sprues in a different box. The Skink sprue has 12 figures on it.
If you want to compare UK and US prices, remember that UK prices include 20% tax.

I get that. It's just a bit weird that they, for instance, doubled the number of Saurus Warriors when the original 10 was already a unit size. It scales a lot worse when you have to buy that many figures, but they still don't cover what you'd do with them. If they sold Skinks in packs of 12, you could buy three of them to hit a 30+ unit size, rather than requiring a full 48 figures to do so.
And it's difficult to tell from the screenshots, but I assume the old boxes had model variations for things like standard bearers/war drums/leaders/etc. By doubling the sprues, does this mean that you have double the number of special figures too? Or are they optional variations?

I agree. A minimum buy of 20 Warriors is stupid when the minimum unit size is 10.
However, GW's packaging and pricing policies are not designed on the basis of maximising utility to the customer.

In every Warhammer regiment sprue you can build it without the command units if you choose.
Of course, in Age of Sigmar there is nothing stopping you from having multiple standard bearers and musicians in a unit.

That still leaves the situation that the Temple Guard box contains two units, and the Skink box contains 2.4 units. Neither is very useful if you want only one or three units (or one large unit for Skinks.)
I don't see why this needs to be defended. It is clearly a simple commercial decision by GW not to remake the sprues, which are relatively new.
What's less explicable is why they decided not to write the rules to fit the sprues available, or package Temple Guard in 10s instead of 20s.

Only if you are determined to use minimum unit sizes. It really doesn't matter in AoS

There's a couple of other boxes already that give double the minimum unit size. Shadow Warriors, Sisters of Avalorn, Iron Breakers, Iron Drakes, Hammers (confusingly, not Longbeards tho lol).
It's quite handy when it's a dual kit as you can make half and half.
Doesn't help in this case, but it's been like that through Warhammer's history as unit (or rank) sizes have changed. Take many of the plastic cavalry boxes that come in 8s which wasn't handy when the minimum frontage was 5 models wide to recieve a rank bonus.

So this is actually reducing the cost per model correct? I can't remember what the old boxes cost.
If the prices are actually going cheaper it would be nice to swipe up a few boxes and start a lizardmen army!
I have to finish painting my Skaven (or at least a 2500 point list of it) then add about 1500 points of empire and then maybe I'll do vampire counts and lizardmen at the same time....oh man I just realized km never going to have enough models haha
