Any idea of what we can do with this technology (aside from the medical point of view expressed in the article) ?
Do you think it's a good or a bad thing ?
Tractor beams, holograms, hoverboards (almost  ! ) we realy live in a Sci-fi era.

Could you use tractor beams for a Vader choke? I have a list of people I could use this on.

The Bessel laser system would though. Also due to drag you would need space to get it to work meaningfully anyway.
The sound based system floats about molecules at short distances, which isn't very impressive.
Still its useful for the pharamaceutical industry, if you can get the sonic manipulator to work with meaningful quantities of matter you can have containerless mixing. Curently for some materials you can only use the central mass in a batch of material mix because any contact with other material i.e the containment is a potential contaminant. This is true of some biotech products and is why you need a large amount of mixture for a small amount of product. A levitating mixture however can be used 100%
