Saw the thread about speculation about the free people and were thinking on the other races we have not seen yet, either in new/rebased minis or artwork in the books.

Destructions races seems pretty much the same, we have seen artwork and pictures of pretty much what they already got with the only lack of "normal" orcs or have I missed something?

Deaths factions seems so far to be just be vampire counts with no new models after end times. I have not seen anything about Tomb kings which could indicated that they will only focus on one undead faction and not two distinct ones.

Chaos: Chaos seems to have had few changes. Skaven are pretty much ported without changes, beastmen and deamons too. Woc have gotten a few new models but It does not seem like anything has become "obsolete".

Order: Here I theorise/hope for the most changes. Seraphon have stayed the same but I believe that they will change the other races more. For the humans I hope for a new range or atleast extensive rework since The Empire and bretonnia is no more.
Dwarfs could possibly stay the same with more steampunk theme which would also not make their new release obsolete in the new worlds factions (except as a remnant for the old world).
As for the elf/aelf I hope they get an extensive reworked. From the lore it seems that the only aelfs that exist are the one from the old world but Tyrion/Malerion/Teclist might been able to save their race since Slannesh removal and created new aelfs civilisation while Sigmar were in Azyrheim

But what do you people think or what do you know?.

They told me i was crazy, that i could not win with an army list like that. 2000 points later i found out that they were right

I pray that my dwarves retain their status as an independent faction. Beyond that I don't really care

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

I have a suspicion, based on absolutely nothing, that the Orcs will get a makeover, in models at least, if not style. Their current core range is a little 'tired', and it seems to me that the ordinary boyz are prime targets to be beefed up to take advantage of 32mm bases...

You could have said the same thing about Lizardmen, and they weren't touched aside from being moved to 32mm round bases.
I was really hoping that the various Saurus models would get an update to match the newer Carnosuar kit, as they are definitely showing their age.

There is not this idea.

I've seen speculation here that orcs might be more focused on the "savage" versions, which does seem to fit the setting. How much word has there been on goblins? Apart from them not being called goblins anymore.

I have not actually seen any of the classic goblin models except spider riders so they might be changed/uppdated since their current minis are quite old and showing it.

Hoping to see them follow up the Bloodbound with new stuff for each of the other chaos factions. Rotbringers are already a great start but need more options. Patron specific marauders, warriors, elite warriors, cavalry, big beastie and character options would be nice.

Duerdin seem to be splitting into 2 factions.

Aelfs I suspect will end up being a single faction with makekith/Morithai leading a new faction of shadow daemons.

Orcs seem to be getting some kind of massive earth elements based on artwork already seen. Orcs in the art so far seem less cartoony so some new minis may be in the pipeline.

Also hoping that they further flesh out the sylvaneth into a wider forest spirit faction without reintroducing wood elfs.

Humans are likely to get the biggest overhaul, possibly event realm specific ones.

Corrupted stormcast a possibility, I'm guessing a horus herway type future campaign.

I think Duardin are in for a major change. The steampunk thing is the latest fad, but I think the new world is much more high fantasy. I remember someone once making the argument that in a high fantasy world, technology would never advance to the levels it has in our world because magic would solve the problems that technology solves in the real world. So instead of cannons, you get fireball blasters powered by runes. The mention of Fyre Slayers in recent fluff I think points to this.

From what I've heard here and there, the Duardin are going to have these factors:

*They prefer hermit-like lifestyles. They only gather when called for war.

*They actually focus on aerial technology and have a powerful air force. One of the reasons for this is due to the realm of metal having precious minerals in it's clouds as well as mountains.

*They do employ cannons and artillery as a reference is made to Korsh's famous cannonade putting a hefty dent in a invading Khorne army.

*There has been mentions of them in multiple realms so they used to travel between the realms, probably searching for more precious resources.

That's what I've gathered so far. Strong indications that those gyrobombers are going to get the rebased treatment.

I'm curious, where have you heard those things? I'm not doubting you, but the only reference I remember is the thing about the cannonade. And all that basically said was "this thing happened."

I've gathered that info from conversations in the dwarf site (Bugmen's Brewery) and from 1d4chan who are pretty good at digging up info.

Otherwise, it's been from snippets of discussion in Warseer about what they've found in the fluff.

I could be incorrect, of course, but I put down the info found by several different individuals who said the same things about the Duardin.

Ah, ok. Just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something. I've read the tome things, but I don't own them, so it's hard to check details.

After the Lizardman book I am not expecting anyone to get changed too much in the foreseeable future. I suspect we'll get a lot more of the same repacks and battle tomes before we see anything as drastic as actually changing the core aesthetic of any existing factions.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

As a Night Goblin player, I would like to see an upgrade over the whole faction. The only models I really like from the range are the Savage Orcs, but the NG game play is too much fun to turn down. I think if there were more than ten Orcs in a box if and when an upgrade comes around I'd be more likely to invest.

In all fairness, AoS is completely failing in my local area despite some dedicated effort from the store manager. I wouldn't be at all surprised if existing factions received minimal changes beyond bases like we've already seen.

3,500 (and building) ASM
3,000 Blood Angels
1500 Eldar (abandoned)

AoS - Beastclaw Raiders, Ironjawz, Night Goblins, and Ogors - Destruction remains unvanquished!
