Can psykers detect other psykers? Kinda like a Jedi/Sith can sense the presence of another Jedi/Sith.

And how far can this sense go? For example, can they just sense their presence when they get within a certain radius? Or can they sense other details?

Also, if this is possible, can this extend to other "Unit Types"? For example, can an Imperial psyker sense the presence of an Obliterator?

Yes, psyker can "feel" other psykers. More powerful psyker is detectable from bigger distance.

For sensing other units, yes its possible, just read Deathwatch fluff for it.

Psykers are basically links to the warp. They can feel the warp and harness it for their needs. The more powerful a psyker, the more he/she/it can feel the warp. Since the warp is a reflection of reality, this means that they gain an understanding of the reality as well. So, a weak psyker could feel that there was a strong chaos presence on a planet from an orbiting station - if say there was a full blown Chaos cult/army/etc, but they could also sense whether or not there was a large population of anything that resonates with the warp (humans, Orks, Eldar, etc.) A very powerful psyker could reach into the warp, find a single mind that resonates in the warp and extinguish it (kill the person) if they wanted and it wasn't protected. But, this also means that psykers experience disturbances to the warp more than regular people. I.e., the approach of a Tyranid Hive Fleet has been known to make lower level human psykers go insane or die. Even powerful psykers (who have the ability to protect themselves from other warp entities) will experience extreme pain or discomfort at the approach of a Hive Fleet.

I came here to exactly describe it as Jedi/Sith terms. Just imagine a Chaos sorceror talking with his Lord and saying "I feel a presence I have not felt since..." and turning around to find his old Chapter's Chief Librarian standing there.

Read 'Ravenor' . He was very good at finding other psykers. Could scan a whole city.

Think of people's souls like fireflies in the Warp. Some of those fireflies (Psykers) burn twice as bright (or even ten times as bright) as the rest. These are Psykers. Psykers can "sense" other Psykers by reading minds (Telepaths, like John Grammaticus, do this), while others, like Zahariel of the Dark Angels, can use "Terror Sight" to literally see everything's reflections in the Warp, thereby detecting other Psykers, while still others can quite literally look inside of the Warp (Astropaths), and see the souls of those around them. The possibilities truly are endless for ways of Psykers to detect eachother.

So in other words:

The more powerful the Psyker, the greater their ability they have to detect others (particularly other Psykers) as well as the easier it is for other Psykers (and Warp entities) to detect them.

And so I assume this can translate to Daemons as well?

Because (as you might see in my story thread on the Fiction forum), I have a fight between a Primaris Psyker and Possessed CSM and am primarily curious in this issue because I want to add another dynamic to the fight (i.e. a bit of narrative relating to the Psyker detecting the Daemon).

A Primaris Psyker could be detected by any other Psyker within miles when actively doing something psychic. That's a significant power well standing there doing magic.

Now, a mention on psykers in general... most of them only know how to do a few things. Some of them can set stuff on fire, self-immolate (and not be harmed), throw fireballs and that sort of thing. Others read and/or enslave minds, others lift (and throw) tanks with a thought, yet others are shape-shifters, healers and body-corruptors. Yet others foretell the future, practice clairvoyance, and make prophesies.

While it's possible that all members of the Psykana have at least basic training in detecting disturbances in the Warp and finding other Psykers, those of a Divinatory discipline are going to be *much* better at detecting such things as someone who, say, shoots melta-beams out of her eyes and can make it rain napalm.
