Hey Gents,

DMB here, wondering if you guys think Chaos daemons will get a new codex soon? There hasn't been many new army discussions floating around since Tau's release! What do you guys think the next codex will be?!

The Tau release was like... a week ago. Think you're kinda impatient on that front.

Well, it will probably not be guard (that Techpriest would just have been released with the codex). There was some hullabaloo around the CSM Dex going OOP recently without them intending to restock it.

Were I a betting man I would say CSM just so GW can continue their unbroken 7 months of power armor releases (c'mon GW what're you doing there's DOZENS of space marine chapters who don't even have broken rules yet you can put off the red headed stepdexes for 6 more months!!)

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

It would be awesome if they made Daemons top tier, or if they made CSM top tier

Daemons and Daemonkin are both fairly strong, especially with the Belakor dataslate.

It would make a lot of sense to update IG and CSM as the next two, but I'd bet on another Space Marine release for around Xmas, and the next codex being IOM.

Wait guys... They are bringing back specialist games... could they bring back SoB?

Khornekin are by far the weakest of the 7.5ed style books. Only thing it really has going for it is the Gorepack and relatively easy access to army-wide FnP. The Chaos Marine parts of it are still abysmal however, as the codex fixed none of the issues CSM's suffer from.
Codex: Daemons still badly out paces anything Khornekin can put up competitively speaking. Flying Circus, Dronestar, Tzeentch Clown Car, Slaanesh shenanigans...
Khornekin still needs allied support to really shine, whereas the basic Daemons codex can still stand on it's own two feet, even against the Decurion/Gladius/Cadre styled filth.

As for new codices for Chaos? I highly doubt it'll be any time soon...

The only "rumors" we have about Chaos anything is BoLS click-bait crap. No one even semi-reliable is hinting at anything Chaos any time soon.
Both Sad Panda & Lady Atia have firmly said no Chaos in 2015.
Atia has hinted that there's nothing likely in Q1 next year either.

We have better rumors for Tyranids atm. Plus we're likely to have more AoS early next year. Then there's rumors about Guard being before Chaos anything.

If I had to guess off of gut instinct, I'd be willing to bet that we won't see anything Chaos related until April/May next year at the earliest. GW are becoming rather predictable in their ability to ignore the Chaos fanbase, with the sole exception of hocking more Khorne related crap whenever they do blink in our direction.

I hope its CSM. I really want to make a fluffy dark church army around the Word Bearers. I see lots of cultists, possessed, and demon princes spreading the dark gospel.

Civilization is the progress toward a society of privacy. The savage's whole existence is public, ruled by the laws of his tribe. Civilization is the process of setting man free from men.

Given that daemons consistently win tournaments, yes, I'd say they're in the top tier when played well.

They can work miracles, though are more limited it seems than the other top tier armies when it comes to bringing the cheddar.
