Didn't see this up for some reason so decided to make a thread.

They're labeled as water pots, but the description says they're stoneware and they look like mugs.
Popped up on the Aus homepage as it's ticked over to Sunday and they're done with BaC up there so it's time to hype for christmas gifts. There's also a case harness.
The ideal way to clean off your brushes while painting, each of these fantastic stoneware Citadel water pots are matched to a colour in the Citadel paint range! This water pot features an attractive design rendered in Leadbelcher. The ideal way to clean off your brushes while painting, each of these fantastic stoneware Citadel water pots are matched to a colour in the Citadel paint range!

This water pot features an attractive design rendered in Leadbelcher.

The green one seems the most amusing for the colour name alone.

Description
Do you need a convenient, all-in-one place to keep your painting supplies when you’re not actually using them? An organised, safe space for your paints and tools? Would you like a specially-designed box loaded with paints, with excellent features designed to make keeping your desk as tidy, efficient and organised as possible?

You’re in luck. The Citadel Project Paint Set is a hard-wearing plastic box, featuring an internal rack that can hold the 49 included paints, space for the four included brushes and space for a set of Citadel modelling tools! Pick it up for yourself, or for the hobbyist in your life - your hobby space will love you for it.

Goes on to list each paint in a new line... and the 4 brushes it comes with.

If they were going to do a red, Blood for the Blood God would be better for a mug. In know they are supposed to be painting accessories, but if they would just make some decent logo mugs, they would probably fly off the shelves. At lest they are starting to acknowledge there is a market for t-gaks, mugs, etc.

That case backpack thing looks odd

The warnings on the backpack are probably not suitable to wear in public in today's current climate.

Yeah, it looks interesting but you have to remember it has those warnings and you're taking a case in it so unwanted attention easily.

Oh and of course there's the yearly mega paint set but everyone already knew it would be there. Paint bundles for the races with the new bigger wash pots too. They're 24ml instead of 12ml, surprisingly here at least while the washes and paints are $6 these are only $11 despite being twice the volume... $1 less than I expected.

This is the harness with the crusader case put in it.

[Insert obvious joke about all citadel customers being mugs....]

I actually like the project box one though, it's a concept I try to run with using 4ltr Really Useful Boxes but soon loose track of paints over 3 or 4 boxes. I might take a closer look at this (as a Chrimbo prezzie), I'm guessing its dear though.

Those mugs are as lazy as Starbucks holiday cups. At least GW could have had art on them.

They do decent mugs in Warhammer World with different graphics on them, really not sure why they don't do them in all the GW.

The clips on that bag look like something from a £5 rucksack off ebay with free p&p.

Nice ideas, just badly executed.

Making the mugs shaped and painted to look like paint pots would've been cute. These are just kinda dull if I'm being honest.

In the same release there is supposed to be some tags for Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Ultra Marines and a Crusade version.

I've not seen any pics but they have gone up on pre-order on a number of sites for next week, they clip to your bag or something like that.

I don't understand the water pots. With the Citadel shield on the front they're lazy, but sort of presentable, I suppose. But the addition of the paint name on the back just makes them look odd.

And let's not even touch the $25 for a $2 mug with a single-colour logo printed on it... $25 wouldn't be unreasonable for a cool collectible mug... but these aren't cool collectible mugs. They're the sort of product you give away with a purchase.

Given all of the cool artwork that they have available for making this sort of accessory, these are just a really bizarre idea for a release.

The backpack thing is a clever idea, but I have to agree that the warnings on it are just asking for trouble in the current climate. There's no way I would take that thing out in public.

Project case is a nice idea, but the case itself looks awfully cheap.

So... whole bunch of 'swing and miss' here.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Lazy mugs with paint names on them and a bag/case that will likely get you shot by any of the planet's more trigger-happy police forces, eh, naw ta. I suppose they had to something silly to balance out the brilliant SG revival news

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

Yeah they really missed the mark with the mugs. They are not even really paints I'm attached to. Agrax Earthshade would at least have been better to give people a double take when I'm drinking black tea.

Or some cheesy jokes like "Tea for the Tea God!" Or "In the grim darkness of this mug, there is only tea".

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I expected mugs that looked like the paint pots. That would have been pretty awesome. I do not understand these dedicated mugs for rinsing- nor why this is the 'ideal way to rinse brushes'.

They probably realised they could not trademark either "mug" or "tea" so they went with this.
Anyway, I thought these mugs had been available for more than a year? Im sure I ridiculed them in a FLGS some time ago.

I think they released a few last year, for different paints. Including Macragge IIRC.

Eventually they will have mugs for all the paints, so you can rinse out your brush in the proper one, as not to contaminate your colors.

Pun aside, this is a perfectly reasonable price for a mug.

You should be able to get one with your own face on it - then it would be a real Citadel mug!

They could of produced some badass mugs worth buying. Just put some iconic high quality artwork from horus heresy or warhammer visions on it.

I'm not at all surprised at games workshop selling unimaginative overpriced crap, but it is a good point why haven't they started selling clothing?!
