@H.B.M.C: iirc, he was part of either last year's BA release, or else he came with the DA stuff earlier this year. I'm pretty sure though he was part of the BA stuff.

I remember a lot of us lamenting the fact that it was covered in BA iconography rather than being a generic any-Chapter mini.

And now we have this generic any-Chapter Libby. I just don't remember it being released...

Even after converting Australian dollar to US dollar those deals don't look great.

Maybe there will be more of a discount than direct currency conversion suggests...

Generic Terminator Librarian came out during the third week of Codex: Space Marine releases back in June. He was even on the cover of White Dwarf.

Just looking at Australian prices the bundles appear to be 15%-20% cheaper than regular prices.

Which you can get all year long at online stores (in the US at least), with the added bonus of buying exactly what you want.

My local manager said that the deals which appear to be really bad in the brochure (i.e. cost more than the individual components combined) is because the leaflet is really badly done and there are contents missing. He assures me everything is a genuinely good deal when you factor in the actual box contents.

He came out at the same time as the Dark Angels Interrogator Chaplain and the Space Marine codex -- I think featuring the Librarian formation.

EDIT: WD Issue 72, release date 6/20/2015.

I'm pretty disapointed in this sale, the savings are no more than ~20%.
Sure, better than no sale at all, but these are prices I can get everywhere.

I suppose for GW these represent a good deal.

My only disappointment is that none of the paint sets are included in their sale. I might be tempted by one of these if the reduction was enough but I can get them for 25% off anyway so probably not.

It's the massive entry price that's put me off. I'd snap up a few things at a good discount for a throw-away price, but the cheapest bundle I've seen is £155.

For example, in Warlords sale, they are selling loose sprues at half price (£1.50-£3 each), doing a buy-3-tanks-get-20%-off and so on. So I can get a good deal without busting a couple of months hobby budget.

And even then, I can probably beat the 20% discount if I made a deal with an indy for the same stuff.

These are all good deals, but they aren't good Black Friday deals. BF deals would be things like selling retired kits for like 80% off or single items for large discounts.

That said, the Death Company has me tempted. But I am done buying BA until they get FAQ'd or get a new codex.

The dwarf one is tempting for me. £135 for a Runelord a Gyrocopter kit 2x Irondrakes and 2x Hammerers...

Not sure I actually want that many stunties though haha

The Dwarf one tempts me the most too. All plastic, and probably gives a sign those units are surviving to the new world. Wanting an ally for my Stormcast but never painted a Dwarf before and not sure how easy to do. Nice that they include new bases.

I wrote this in another thread, but I though it would be interesting to bring up here.

While these might be some of the better deals GW's ever had on their online store, they are kind of terrible Black Friday sales.

I've read that the average american spends around $800 on Christmas gifts; of that $130 is for themselves. The remaining amount will usually get split 16 ways: around $40 per person. So a good Black Friday sale aught to shoot for either the self giver at around $130, or for allowing the giver to get the maximum value out of that $40 allotment.

GW's holiday sales ask you to shaft your friends and family.
