I run a Librarian in my list. He's armed with Power Armor, a Force Axe, and upgraded to ML 2. He rides in a Drop Pod with an assault squad carrying two flamers. The rest of my list boasts alot of melta, lascannons, and plasma so the ASMs are really my big anti-blob unit. With the way the formations I'm taking work the only unit to attach the librarian to is the ASM. As such I was thinking I'd run Pyromancy on the librarian, but Biomancy might also be useful for making him a really buffed out assault threat. Any thoughts on what is the best discipline in this case?

Perhaps telepathy.

Depends... Is he going to be a supporting character for the whole army, or just for his unit?? Divination is arguably the best for the former or either telepathy, biomancy or sanctic for the later... Sanctic can be strong but the perils on all doubles can hurt, if your stuck go with divination tbh tends to work best in most situations.

Divination can also help with your melta guns on the alpha strike making sure you get those hits and you are guaranteed prescience which is nice...

OP said that his Assault Squad runs with flamers, not meltas so rerolling to hit won't really do much. Telepathy is always a solid pick, Shrouding and Invis with Shriek being the crowd favourites. If you really want to start some fires and are not playing a super serious game you could also roll on pyromancy.

Either Divination or Telepathy. Don't bother with the others.

I was thinking for the rest of his army but yes divination does nothing for flamers... Telepathy is a good pick generally

When in doubt, go for Invisibility or Perfect Timing. You rarely go wrong with this simple guideline.

Everywhere at once..

I cant believe no one has said endurance or warp speed.
Also life leech plus smite is decent for giving your librarian some ranged ap2.
But as stated it all depends on what you want him to be about.

I am changed . . . an outcast now.
