I flippin' love Christmas/Festive season/Winter Holiday! I'd have my decorations up all year round if my home wasn't powered by the souls of dead dinosaurs. I'm also an ex-serviceman, but I rarely wear a poppy. I remember my friends all year round with my head and my heart. I don't need to wear a symbol to do that.

@OP: While I personally think it's a little odd to have decorations up that early (or at all, really, I'm a miserable git ), you seem to have a good reason and ultimately, it's your business, not anyone else's! So go for it!

Anytime in December until Twelfth Night.
Since people should be too sozzled after a night of wassailing, taking decorations down could be hazardous.

It's caused specifically by Christmas, I'm fine in November in January.

You would love Japan then. The Christmas lights are taken down punctually at midnight on 25th December to make way for the New Year lights.
