Was curious what everyone uses for a razorback loadout. i'm building a 2 demi company gladius list and i'm going to be having 8 free razorbacks, minus upgrades. Do i go straight lascannons, a mix of other options or just stick to the bolters? What about other options?

I thought the lasplas was able to shoot both tbe lascannons and plasmagun but then someone told me you cant because its a combi weapon and you have tk pick one.

I'm a fan of assault cannons on mine, high strength plus rending equals so much win. On occasion I'll run lascannons on them if I buy a razorback for my dev squads so they can snipe.

Last I checked they were separate systems.

I only own one Razorback, and I gave it the twin Lascannon. It usually does okay. The Assault Cannon loadout is probably better, though.

The lascannon extra range advantage will be wasted, presuming the Razor won't be skulking around in the back of the table all game (and if it is, you might as well take a Predator instead), so I can see why assault cannon are the way to go. But it does depend on what you'll be doing with the 'passenger' unit, and whether they and the Razor will be supporting each other after the passengers disembark.

Not exactly what you were asking, but personally I like this kit for flexibility.

If you are running bare minimum squads with them, and simply capitalizing on your dual demi-company, I'd like to put all of them but your devastators with assault cannons. Your force is going to get within 24" of the enemy anyways, and the cannons aren't that bad of a cost. S7 is the golden number for shooting, but S6 with rending I believe is scarier. Your devastators can then take the TL lascannon razorbacks and hang back.

In Maelstrom, I'd recommend assault cannons to support your troops as they try and claim objectives. Otherwise, I tend to keep my troops alive further away from the opponent until they can go forward and grab last minute objectives. That is when I'd recommend the lascannon for longer range.

Keeping them in the back? Grab a TL Lascannon.
Keeping them in the front? Either Assault Cannon or Lascannon/Plasma Gun.

Only take a Las/Plas on Blood Angels, who can't take this Formation anyway so don't take a Las/Plas. The lack of Fast means one gun is Snap Shooting with any movement. Sure, you can have a gunline of Armor firing away from a static position and if that's the goal, have at it. Personally, I wouldn't give up the Twin Linked goodness on Assault Cannons or Lascannons or even Heavy Bolters for a Jack of all Trades option.

1: No, they would be Troop choices because they're purchased from the Troop unit 'Tactical Squad'. They're still dedicated transports and not purchased separately.

2: I actually meant the Fast designation, like how a Leman Russ is Heavy and or just how the Razorback is Tank, Transport. Fast is something Blood Angel Razorbacks have that let them shoot two guns while moving 12".

Forgeworld is the best option, it has an Assault Cannon upgrade for 15 pounds. A few third party producers such as Bitspudlo and Puppetswar make good alternatives. Otherwise, the Land Raider C/R upgrade frame has all of the bits necessary, but it will set you back $20USD.

Forge planet seems to have a really nice looking turret cheaper than some of the other options. Some of the bitz dealers have the turrets listed for around $10 but are out of stock.

As said above, lasplas is awesome, but if youre gonna be making a swift advance then you don't want to lose that twin linked. Make sure if you take all assault cannons then bring something to drop av14.

Two different ideas so far, one is my dev squads use lascannons, everything else ac. Other ideas bring centurion devs and drop pod them and run ac on all my razorbacks.

I really dislike this weapon because it only comes in ones. Also, the range sucks.

I second this. though a TL Assault cannon is very expensive, maybe try the free TL Heavy Flamer.

Assault Cannon is the best all round weapon here. Pumps out a decent number of rending shots that are also a reasonable strength so can do damage to a wide number of targets. Range can be an issue, but you'd have other units better equipped for long range firepower. If Razorbacks are your only means of long range shooting, you might find yourself in trouble anyway.

Are the Sisters of Battle immolators a fast attack when bought as dedicated transport for the sister squads?

Only if the Squad that bought it is Fast Attack. Dedicated Transports are in some weird limbo where they don't exist in the FOC but count as a separate unit anyway. But they are always the same 'slot' as the parent unit.

Unless there is a special rule. I don't have the SoB codex but I doubt they have something unique there.

Assualt cannons on most of them. Heavy bolters and maybe one TLHF on one.

And devs- I personally run 2 Heavy weapons in each, and put them in a rhino. Works great.

I use Assault Cannons. They're not all that much worse than Lascannons against hard targets, and are way better against infantry. Razorbacks are often up towards the middle of the table, so the short range of the AC is not a huge problem.

Blood Angels should be using LasPlas with overdrive engines. Blood Angels have lots of other options for dealing with infantry - better to leave some of the low AP shooting to their Razorbacks.

Um, Razorbacks, Drop Pods and Rhinos have been FA options by themselves since the SM codex dropped (not to mention the BA and SW ones). You can take them as dedicated as well, sure, but the option is there to stock up on them from FA too.

I'm building one with TL Lascannon (for a Sternguard squad w/Combi-meltas) mostly because that's what is on the sprue and I swore I would never play this "Buy additional stuff to get options that should be included by default" game with GW again.

You're correct but that has no bearing in this context. You can't buy a Fast Attack slot anything in a Formation. You get what you are told to get, and since the conversation is about the free Dedicated Transports from a Formation, that's what I'm talking about. There's no option to purchase separately without going off on an unrelated tangent about CADs.
