So the idea is to make a set of easy makeable, stacking therefore takes up a small amount of space, witch can quickly create different built up areas.
The concept is to 3 different parts,
A large base plate that can be put next to others to create different buildings.
A smaller top structure that can be placed next to the base plate, on top of it for a secondary level and as a bridge support.
A bridge piece to go between two of the other pieces on the same level. Also with cover down one side to add support and cover for when traversing those high gantries.
Drawn up some load outs and made some mock ups, what do you lot think?

Did another but ran into a problem when stacking them, they currently have 3 straight sides and don't slot together I thin they need 3 slopped sides.

I like it a lot, could be fun to play kill team with that. Nice idea.

Yes, sloped sides would help. What you're trying to do is difficult from scratch, but laudable. Reminds me of paper french fry/burger trays. Alternatively, you could make the sides straight, and make each one slightly smaller than the next ("nesting"). Just make each box maybe 1/4" smaller than the next so they fit inside one another. Another way to go is to save cardboard boxes from cereal, granola bars, etc, and use those. You can reinforce the insides so that they won't collapse. Add some rivets and a few details, paint them black, and you're good to go. Or if you feel like delving into paper templates, there are tons of links to free Building templates available. Just some thoughts.

Cheers, some good ideas to mull over there. Will give the sloped sides another try at some point for now have modified them so they nest.

I think it's a really good idea, but hesitate (from a consumer/gamer stand point) due to the sloped sides not looking "imperial" and the potential for a lot of this to be too same-y.

Both of these problems are solve-able and again, I think you're on to a major winner here. Some thoughts might be:

1) Diversity of siding textures. Some are solid, some are mesh, some are pipes or w/e, just so things don't look all the same.

2) 3/4 sided boxes so you have an open side allowing for stacking and don't have to go the slanted route, or could have some slanted and some not, again for diversity's sake.

3) This is probably too much work to be practical, but what if you made the pieces out of mutually interlocking panels (magnets?) that could be assembled in a variety of shapes and combinations? So you've got rectangles of building faces and you link them together to form a variety of mutable shapes, textures, and configurations so the players can alter the terrain to their liking and the particulars of the game.

Again, I really like your idea and would love to see the finished product.

Thanks! Tons of idea to think about there! Will definitely do some different designs, maybe some bunkers too, was hoping if i slapped enough egales, machinery and rivets i could get away with the slopped sides.
Iv'e had a few interlocking plastic sets before but they went very transportable, to many small pieces. I'm thinking something like a slot house though maybe, for sides, slots just past the corners... yes that might work.
