If nothing else you get free exhibit entry (worth £7.50) on the day. Got a Sunday ticket, the new tram system makes getting there super convenient now.

Wondering what the past games are going to be. Wondering if I actually want to go, because I'm not overly festive. But someone mentioned cake.

Also, this whole 41st year thing sounds... ominous >_>

I hear the introduction to 8th edition, which is being released to celebrate will be something along the lines of this:

For more than four decades the Executives
have sat immobile on the leather thrones of GWHQ.
They are the Masters of Plastic by the will of the
investors and master of a few hundred gaming stores
by the might of their inexhaustible copyright claims.
They are a rotting carcass writing invisibly with greed
from the Dark Age of Capitalism. They are the Carrion Lords
of the Franchise, for whom a hundred store workers lose their
jobs every day, for whom prices are raised and profits raised.
Inhuman prices, obscene profits. To be a player in such times
is to be one amongst untold millions. It is to live in the cruellest
and most expensive bloody gaming regime imaginable. This is
the tale of those times.

It is a torment you can live today - if you dare - for this is a dark
and terrible era of wargaming where you will find little comfort or
hope in discounts and 'special' offers. If you want to take part in the
financial debt then prepare yourself now. Forget the power of fanbases,
common sense and consumer demand, for there is no compassion
amongst the executives, only an eternity of price increases and re-releases
and the laughter of thirsting investors.

But the marketplace is a big place and, whatever happens, you will not be valued.

This is what Exalted Posts are made of.

Really liking the Masterdon, going to have to pick one up to drive RG around. I'm not sure it needs that many meltas on the front as there are meltas either side of the front door and on top of the door.

I also like the new Warlord weapons, not sure on the head. Can somebody do me a favour and ask them if they have any update on the chaos version of the Warlord? I'm getting fed up waiting for it.

I particularly like the lightning claw combined with the mega bolter, fixes what I don't like about the Reaver lightning claw in that it loses ranged shooting. I usually run my Reaver with the claw as claw + bonus for mark of Khorne means a lot of D attacks on the charge, people do not expect to be charged by a Reaver!

Do we know if the new weapon for the Ordinatus will be available separately? Its an easy swap on the chassis so you would hope so.

So, for a "fantastic" 40th b-day bash, how was the turnout?

The tickets were free and booked via Facebook, so it was a very silly idea to do that.

Yeah, a bit silly.

Loads of lizard man stuff at half price if you don't mind old school packaging

Metal assassins at half price plus gutter spine, skarr bloodwrath

I say silly as I'm on my own feeling very shy whilst 5 of my mates are moderately jealous and unable to get in.
I'd rather have had them here and paid a nominal fee.

People value things they had to pay for. Free tickets sounds like a good idea but people get up on a morning like this, face the pissing rain, and realise how nasty it's going to be just getting to Nottingham, and think they won't bother.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Very pleasant, relaxed afternoon, despite gak weather.
Picked up a Corax for a Dakka member and I'm sure he won't mind you guys seeing the packaged bits when I do a final check before mailing.
He's £70, which I think is the most expensive HH character thus far, but fething impressive in person.

Scrap Daemon looked fun, but I didn't try, felt a bit timid. Similarly didn't snap pics because I wussed out near the terrifyin(gly friendly) studio staff.
Sorry guys. Some days I'm doing well if I get out the house and don't give it up as too frightening.

Hope the rest of the day made up for being 'friended' at

I think it's really telling that the bloodbowl is only at the stage it's at (rather than having the final sprues done if not cut), it just goes to show whoever was talking up the game over the last couple of years being well out of the real rumour loop
