$165 US?

Well in that case it'll probably be $290-300 AUS.

... yeah no. Even with Hybrids that is way too much.
Even if the Cult is 40 miniatures strong that'd be too much.

ok, yeah, that price cooled me off a bit. That is really pushing it, I'll have to think hard about this. Man, they really won't stop, will they?

I'm sure they're expecting a lower sales volume than Betrayal at Calth and that's probably driving up the price.

£100 is expensive. But we could be getting fully plastic necromunda style for all we know,.

Well, that price has kind of cooled my interest.
I was braced for $150 as an absolute max for MSRP.
Will have to see what the contents including board game side of things are before final decision.
If it's another BaC engine game that'll help.

As badly as I want those DW, I can't break (again) my promise to not buy any more models.

But $165 is pushing it unless it is just chocked full of models.

Maybe the box will have a full army of cultists including a limo, maybe it will include a 3d printer to make new floor tiles, or maybe it will include exactly the same contents as space hulk and I will die a little inside as I buy it anyway.

Agreed. Not sure how anyone can claim it's overpriced without knowing the contents.

Granted, it's GW so overpricing is likely, but still...

Calth? Not overpriced.
Start Collecting sets? Not overpriced.
GW has made alot of steps in the right direction.
Again, GW can fill the box with solid gold coins and candy and people on here and other boards will still crap all over it and find something to blame GW for.
Considering the insane cost of most boardgames these days to do not include models that can be used for your Warhammer needs, I think we will be in a good place.

Wulfen? Overpriced.
Iron Priest? Overpriced.
Practically any of the AoS stuff? Overpriced.

I don't blame people for being a little hesitant at the price tag, but like I said, I hope the contents justifies it.

They certainly have, but the old ways still manifest now and again.

As you seem to have ignored the fact that I wasn't actually calling Deathwatch overpriced, I'll say it again, I don't know how people can call it overpriced seeing as we don't know the contents.

Agreed on most points---their starter sets are pretty good value--- but GW do jack up still.
I thought Calth was a decent value but I'm looking at it from board game territory and $165 is still swinging for the fences even with FFG pricing on Star Wars-licensed products.
Nice hyperbole on the solid gold coins.

I thought Wulfen were overpriced until I actually dug into the kit.
There is amazing detail and a huge ton of extra bits and options which will be used.
Iron Priest? Maybe, I am just glad the torso is separate

Yeah, I'd be hesitant to say Wulfen are overpriced based off the bitz left over. I think the models themselves aren't great, but lots of leftovers for smacking on random stuff.

Could you combine the Wulfen leftovers with a Wolf Pack to make more Wulfen? Could get the 15-man Blood Claw kit with a Wulfen kit to make 10 Wulfen and 10 Grey Hunters.

I worry that the DW kit is going to be like Space Hulk. Lots of good minis, just not worth it just for the minis.

Good question. Haven't seen the Wulfen with my own eyes, but I think they're mounted on 40mm bases. Make of that as you will I guess.

The shoulders are sculpted like the savage orcs were in fantasy, and their torsos don't seem to be much larger than the normal marines.

So it would take a little work, and the legs would look stunted next to the actual wulfen, but you could manage it I'm sure.

I have left over MK IV armor pieces from some Calth sets due to Thousand Sons upgrade kits and are using that with left over Wulfen bits to make some more.

Yup, 40mm bases, there's a ton of bitz in the box, and they're a decent amount taller than terminators, for the same price as the 5 man BA Assault Terminator box.

Am I the only one that notices GW is creeping further and further away from Heroic? Those proportions seem like they're pretty well on their way to being regular 28mm. Not overly stumpy or bloated looking.. knees seem like they're in the right places.. hands and feet not massive. When I'm drawing, a typical proportion guide for chest width is roughly two heads wide for the chest at the shoulder level. That's what I'm seeing here.
