Thanks, I just suddenly realised that the head from the Ultramarines upgrade sprue was ideal for doing my own version of Sicarus.

/agree.
I did the same thing myself. Not a fan of the official model, rules are not bad. And the UM upgrade sprue has all the parts you need to make your own.
I’m still working on the basecoats of my entry. Slow progress this month, so many distractions...

Proof Pic! Forgive me! I forgot to take a picture before I started base coating, it's only the legs and sleeves, so not to bad I hope.
The primer looks shiny, but I promise, there's only 1 color on here, and that's the gray m80. This is also be doubling as my Auxilia test model

well, I did this today, so all-in-all, not half bad so far. I'm not done, but I'm still hunting for C&C on the scheme, as I want to use the grey and orange for my Auxilia as a whole.

I'll be changing my entry this month from a Tactical Squad Sergeant to another Death Company marine, as I REALLY need to get this squad finished, and this competition will keep me motivated with all the extra holiday stuff on-going.
Updated Proof Picture:
Thanks, sorry for the mid-stream change over. Work will be commencing soon (as in now!) as I just finished base-coating the component parts.

Yea, Sergeant Paint Pot is pointing at me, commanding me to paint him faster!
I noticed that after I posted the picture, glad someone else picked up on it
Excited to get this mini started. These Death Company are taking a LOT longer to paint than I expected. The joys of highlighting black are both many, and varied.

Other half got to go to his work xmas party so I finally got some painting time!!!
Very WIP pic here. Base coat of colours is down. Need to tidy up a little though. Warcolours paints are a bit more transparent than expected so there are a few splatters here and there xP
Prepare your eyes for the blinding pain of Froglet: The eyesore!
Next stage is to clean up and start properly transitioning the colours.
Finally got him off his base too so I can start fixing that up too!
