How? With their S4 AP5 Stormbolters? Or is it their S7 AP4 Psycannons? Can't be their S4 AP- Psilencers. Or did you mean their AP3 force weapons, which are oh so useful against vehicles?
Please, let us all know how GKs are so good at kill anything with an AV.

True, but I think Martel was using sarcasm.

Slayer-Fan123 wrote:He isn't cheese. He's almost 250 points and has no mobility outside Gate, which would mean they don't get to assault just yet.
Yeah, he's definitely very good, but he's certainly not OP. The only real cheese combo with him is the centstar, and that's really only cheesy because of grav cents. Otherwise, Draigo is right about where he should be. Powerful, reasonably priced, but not unbeatable.
Maybe my characters are so bad that powerful has started to look like cheese to me.
I'll disagree with you forever on Dante, but I'll overall give you the rest. Tycho is one of the worst entries written in the history of the game.
Dante just doesn't bring nearly enough to the table to be only 30 pts cheaper than Draigo. Dante should be less than 200 and closer to 150 if Draigo is the measuring stick.
Well, if it makes you feel better, here's Dante's advantages to Draigo:
1. More natural mobility
2. A better Warlord trait
3. I6, potentially I7. When you add Furious Charge, he's striking at S7, which is the natural strength with Draigo
4. A more mobile retinue with Death Company
5. His sole range option is better than a Storm Bolter?
It isn't a lot, but at least he isn't terrible. Draigo is pretty good though.

Yeah, but they're basically all we got. If we lost psycannons we'd be pretty much a dead codex.

Psycannons aren't really a thing anymore. Nerfed via Salvo on Power Armoured guys and using 200pts of Terminator to fire one Psycannon isn't a good use of points.
GK get by now via Dreadknights, Lvl 3 Libs and Gate/Shunt/Teleport

Back in 5th, Psycannons were one of the best weapons in the game (if not the best).
Kinda shows how much power creep there's been since then.

Didn't they gain salvo with the newer dex? I thought that was what did psycannons in.
GK work great with allies, because their characters are good and they have a few units that are excellent. They lack numbers though.
As many have said, Draigo with a Centstar (Wait...can you get 2 cent stars if you use tiggy?), some of the Inq options help out, and the Knight. Knights are the answer to a lot of thing.
The codex is weaker than it was, but it can still be cheesey against a lot of opponents if you are willing to do some ally BS. It isn't nearly as bad as eldar, tau, necron, or SM though.

Somewhat, but even without Salvo S7 AP4 Assault 4 Rending just isn't impressive these days. Not when you have Grav, D-weapons and Apocalypse blasts flying around.

In 5th Psycannons were only part of what made GK good- Psybolts and Fortitude on Dreads and Razors being the other part
Eldar do the S6/7 spam thing a lot better (and cheaper) these days, and with 'D' icing on top.
