Hello, I am brand new to AoS. I am starting with 2x contents of the starter set for Stormcast Eternals.

I am a huge fan of the Prosecutors but I understand they are a bit lacking in defense when they get into combat. Atleast from my limited amount of reading tactics.

I also understand you can pretty openly use any models you want in your army?

What are some good magic users that I could include in my force to help buff my units?

I appreciate any direction! Thank you!

Just to let you know, I probably wouldn't play stormcast eternals. They are probably the best army in the game, but are so popular that you will struggle to find a lot of games. I also find their history rather bland. So unless you've already bought them, I might spend time looking up other armies (my personal favourite is the Wood Elves, look them up). But don't get me wrong, the stormcast and stunning to look at and are very easy to start. I'm just giving you all the facts...

o and yer, to answer our question, High Elf sorcerers I find are really good.

I don't see what's wrong with playing Stormcast - I'm doing an army myself alongside a couple Chaos ones. Stormcast vs Stormcast works fine.

For adding a mage, the popular thing to do seems to be to take one from the Empire. Stormcast are powerful enough not to need magic, as they have Castellants and Relictors to buff already, but think about the theme you want for your army, look through other armies' war scrolls and see which mage models you like. Hard to go wrong really.

My favorite buffmancer is Alarielle for the High Aelves, heals any model D6 wounds and gives unit a 6+ Ward :-)

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I have spent $20 dollars so far.. so I am not too worried about what I have at the moment =)

Thanks for the input though, I have really own watched MWG videos for AoS and stormcast seems to win maybe 60% of the time from vids i have seen, but by no means am I saying that speaks for the long run.

I will have to check out some high elves. One reason I never got into Fantasy originally (aside form the insane amount of units you needed -> $$$) was I never liked one entire armies worth of models enough to run them.

That said... I really like the Castellant Prime model... pretty much the main reason I started stormcast aside from the deal i got to startup. Have seen some really nice painted ones, and I can not wait to try some new techniques i have learned while painting him.

Forgive my extreme lack of knowledge... are either of those included in the starter set? I want to answer "No" and say its a lightning count or something XD

Thanks! I will definitely check her out! healing d6 sounds better then healing d3 (as per the guy in the starter set)

Another great one looks like the Warrior Priest! Haven't had a chance to play with one yet though

I wouldn't say pure stromcast are the best... wizards can cripple them and they have none if playing a pure army. I would say the best armies are 1: lizardmen, and 2: chaos (mix of deamons, woc, rotbringers, etc.

Those armies have wizards, hard hitting characters, sommoning, etc. You can find similar units in each of those to what the stromcast have.

If you play stormcast, use a mix with empire or brits.

The Lord-Relictor is in the starter set. He's the character on foot with a big wavy cape and banner-looking thing. The Lord-Castellant is this guy: http://www.games-workshop.com/en-CA/Stormcast-Eternals-Lord-Castellante

Great I will check that out! A friend of mine suggested this guy on a griffon... or the mage on a dragon. Since my core will be alot of 12" movement, he stressed being able to keep up may be more key then the exact buffs they can provide.
