Hi all, first thread, been basically just a reader / lurker here and new to the hobby (haven't even played a game yet, just been getting into painting).

For my second army I'd like to do Orks of the Goff variety, and primarily a melee / infantry styled army with perhaps some Dakka support. Anywho, for my Nobz I'd really like to find some of the following style for my army.

What I'm finding on GW's site is as follows.
http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Ork-Nobz

I'm ok to have those as maybe a lesser Nobz group, but I want to be able to show more status levels among my ranks and bigger armor seems to be the trick and most appealing to me. Can anyone point me where to find these guys, or are the additional bits in the normal pack as options?

Thanks much!

Those are converted from fantasy Black Orcs with 40k Ork parts (one of them is based on the Tank Busta nob, and another on the Kommando nob). You can just buy a set of Blackpool Orcs and just kitbash them with 40k parts.

you want to play goffs, thats good, goffs ar some of the meanest and touphest there is. but keep in mind that nobz got worse this edition...the unit i mean. too expensive fo what they get, so i would either sugest converting your nobz into meganobz, or useing those nobz as the upgrade option for other squads. nobz are the one character that most ork units can take as an upgrade with a relitively decent price (though only the boyz squads can take nobz w/ eavy armour).

That was a fast reply, thanks much! I thought it might have been a previous edition or something, so I'm happy to see these are readily available.

Speaking of kit-bashing, has anyone put Ghazghkull's head on the Kromlech warboss? I like the larger size of their model and want to keep that large bull-horned helmet for my Goff warboss, but am concerned it won't look proportional on the larger body or the horns will hit somewhere . Has anyone done this? All I can find is the Kromlech juggernauts with a mega nob head swap.

To be honest I have no idea beyond my initial - infantry eavy army full of nobz, mega nobz, killa kanz, a deff dread, and a slew of boys. The few guys I know from work who play 40k have said that Orks are super fun to play but rarely win. So I was going into it with that mindset, just play what I like.

I will need to figure out a point build though, especially before I really start buying units. Not all too familiar with the upgrades of units and I do see in my codex that they have proposed army setups. Just going for what looks cool, and suits my playstyle from Dawn of War and other video games.

playing for fun is great, only problem there is who you play. depending on what type of person it is and what list they bring then you might have a very short game. it can be quite demoralizing. but if you play with the right poeple you can both find boundless entertainment.

one thing about orks that is supported by ork fluff is spamming particular units. i finally got around to collecting 32 killa kanz. i cant wait to field that in a game.

Stupid question... for the black orc helmets used to kitbash with the nobz. I looked at a sprue online for the black orcs, and noticed that some of the tasks are missing, and don't see them on any other sprues. Am I daftly missing the tusks on the sprue somewhere?

Same situation with the bits sites, appears to have helmets missing tusks, and I can't find purchaseable tusk bits.

I'm pretty sure the helmets in the conversion in question are from the OOP metal Black Orcs.

OOP in this case meaning "out of production" as opposed to "out of package"?

The helmet which is missing is from the Finecast Black Orc Warboss, not the Black Orc sprew itself. That's the one on the converted tank hunta nob.

All other ones presented in the photo are on the sprue you linked.

Yessir, but if you look at the sprue, third head up from the bottom right, or third down from the top left, you'll see that there are "sockets" for the tusks, and yet I don't see any tusks on the sprue for that helmet.

Does that mean that every picture of those black orcs, someone took green stuff (I think that's what its called) and made tusks, or am I not seeing something from the picture of the sprue.

Not trying to be difficult. Just don't know where I'm going to get tusks from that match the others.

I'm looking at the sprue, and I see tusks. It's hard to tell because it's a straight-shot down so it's a little hard to see.

I mean, I literally have two black ork sprues hanging out in my hobby desk incase I want the bits, all of the head have tusks.
