I play guard and live in the Kansas City area looking for a friendly game. I'm fairly new to the game but have played a few games and know the basics.

I'm also fairly new to the area and am wondering if there are any groups that play regularly.

Welcome to the Game and Welcome to the Area to both of you. As far as groups go the 40k community is kind of loose in KC at the moment though there are quite a few players of you can find them.

Not to piggy back but If the two of you are looking to set up something regular, and want an extra player or two. I've been dieing to play more regularly.

If you guys are interested in tournaments and are willing to drive a couple of hours east, Valhalla's Gate in Columbia has a tournament for 40k about every month or so. I can't remember when the next one is, though, but I can post the date when I find out. If you guys are interested, of course.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 40 | Current main painting project: Tomb Kings

Honestly, I wouldn't go just for VG. Had a less than stellar experience I'd rather not get in to.

Haven't been to Collector's Cache. TwiG and I did a team tournament at TableTop and kicked ass. 31st seems to have the best selection of named character models.

Limited Figures in the Kansas City North off of I-29 and 72nd street has a 40k group. Forgot what night they play but it has a solid core group of players.

I haven't heard of Limited Figures. I'll check that out the next time I'm up in Grandview.

Sure! 31st Century is under new ownership. They've really opened the store up and are 50% off current in-stock WM/H and Battlefield minis...

Tabletop new location is really great as well!

Didn't have any pigmen, so I was able to save the wallet.

I'm starting up the hobby again after some time away. Going for a Militarum Tempestus army and I am interested in getting into AoS if I can get some regular opponents. I live up in Leavenworth, so it's a drive for me no matter what I do.

I know it isn't 40k but I was curious if anyone was interested in AoS? I live in the Independence area and could even get the gaming store there to run the AoS Op event. And I wouldn't mind setting up a tournament to celebrate the new General's Handbook.
