Seeing how things are going, I'll probably be an evil faction. If the crusade can support it, I can always add a loyalist faction later as well, but that is if and only if the crusade can support it. I won't take up more space than is fair for my forces, so a secondary force will be on hold, if ever deployed. Depends on how things turn out.

My main choices have been Necrons, Orks, or Tau.

Also, out of curiosity, how would one run tyranids on the new map? It'd be tricky, if we're limiting our sizes, since tyranids on a planet like that would be expanding at a large rate.

I looked, there are over 60 spots on the map, so everyone has enough for 2, maybe even 3 spots

Could they be on a moon?

And I quite fancy doing Admech. Mix of research and combat. Plus, if you offer us something interesting, we may well get distracted and leave the Imperials to it.

Admech would be interesting.

The moons aren't like Earth's moon, they're almost full planets, just, smaller

Admech are really cool. I don't know enough about their armies to do anything with them, but it'd be cool to see them here. On second thought, I might pick up a Kroot mercenary army instead. Highest paying bidder can let me join them...

I would really love to have two factions, because when I was just doing Archarus, I kept putting off writing because it almost felt like I was by myself at times. In the same sector, but alone with my events.

Of course, things have picked up from then, what with CAKE and the Eldar, but there was a time where I had stopped writing for awhile because I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. The Histans helped, since I have an ally I'm literally cooperating with at all times now.

I know more about their units, motivation and tech than their hierarchy. But that wouldn't be hard to research, I'm sure.
In fact we could always assist by being the secondary motivation for some battles. Kill those X anyway, but return to us their Y, and we'll give you this shiny new cannon.

Woah, slow the train down, I think we should start with one and see where we are at then decide if we can do two. I would also suggest 2 factions primarily (Imperium of Man vs ???)

So much for streamlining.

Streamlining is for the weak

The main reason I'd want to do orks is because that I miss writing up their fluff from way back when with Chazz's Insert Yourself thread for the Kommandoz. Seeing them in the CoF is also a constant reminder of that, and only makes me miss writing for them more.

Another cool Imperial faction would be the assassinorum. Any of the branches would be interesting to write from their PoV, so I might have an Imperial faction of them. Plus they aren't really a main force, but a side one.

Fair enough. I'll limit myself on one faction (probably xenos of some sort) and if we can have more than one, then I think I'll do Assassinorum, since it isn't a huge army, but gives me an Imperial side of things.

Also, Kharne, I think it'd be neat if you did a flayed one army or destroyer cult for the next crusade.

Ok, so here's what we'll do. Also it will be IoM vs Xenos/Chaos. this doesn't mean that all the Chaos/Xenos have to work together.

Everyone picks one faction and we get it on roster and see what the balance is.
Everyone needs to come up with a decent amount of fluff for their 1st army

Then those who want to may pick a second.

If you want a third you must ask the GM. If you do bring in a third army it will have to be after crusade has started.


What do you guys think?


2BJ1, i don't know about Flayed Ones and Destroyers, those are kinda taboo for my Necrons

that still only takes 1/3 of available spots. If half did 3 armies then there would still be over 1/2 spots left.

I couldn't even handle writing up rolls for 3 factions, it'd be insanity, and I'd be surprised if I was the only one to agree to that sentiment.

And Kharne, if you meant to continue on with Kageros, then nevermind about my suggestion, but if you wanted to start fresh, maybe from the perspective of an awakening tomb, then I thought it'd be interesting to have something like flayed ones or destroyers, for change things up a little.

That is a ton to keep track of. Just look at our map; it is filled to the brim with factions. There are so many, I kind of tuned out to those which didn't concern me directly: Chazz's Orks, Bob's Scions, the Tallarn, the Genestealer cult, most Astartes stuff. Its not that I didn't like it, it was just that there is so much happening.

I agree with you guys, 3 factions is lunacy.

I might continue with Kageros, If I do an awakening tombworld then I could do some...

interesting things regarding the Maynarkh Dynasty...

But I guess I'm doing RSM and Necrons

I'm considering switching my army to some other Loyalist faction and just having a knight or two attached to them. Lets me and TS continue the Knight interplay, but it'd give me some more options. I don't know...

You could do a Guard Regiment that follows a knight house.

Then you could also do a Xeno/Chaos faction
