Are you aware that the World Engine that is Voor'Han has an operational weapon? It's just the internal structure and propulsion systems and a LOT of other stuff is broken.*
What's to stop me from putting it on a Tomb Ship?
*Edited for unnecessary (?)
What did we say about World Engines Kido?
The World Engine itself isn't working, what's to say that one of the guns isn't still operational, they never said what guns it uses, so I assume it's got big Gauss cannons. Besides, if the Imperium has guns that can kill a planet, whats to say the Necrons don't either? It's not like it's an entire planet, it's a single ship, and a single ship is not hard to take down compared to a planet

Sgt_Smudge wrote: Okay, so I've settled on an endgame plan. (I know, pretty unbelievable! )
Here's the plan, spoilers, in case you don't want to know how I'm looking at ending this.
Spoiler:
All other plot lines (Voidspider, Genestealers, Novus Regulus) are all tied up, either in defeats or wins. I have no idea how long this could take.
Zonand, Pavus and company head to Brackus, and eliminate the Hybrids there. However, by diverting so many Imperial forces, the crusade's territory is left vulnerable.
Cue Archarus and his Iron Warriors that he's been massing invade the weakened Imperial territory, razing planets as they go.
Cue final conflict as the two enemies engage over the remains of Gallor, or another planet, I don't know, in a huge space/ground battle. Other forces seize this chance and either support a faction, or try and claim victory in the chaos. Of course, there can only be one winner, and the winner takes all. Basically, reminiscent of the last battle on Gallor Prime. Of course, this would be the end of the crusade, with a little epilogue for each force who took part explaining what happens after.
Cue happy dancing and bitter tears.
Battle works in the same way as before: everyone involved rolls a number - whoever gets closer gets the victory, and what they desire. Everyone else not affiliated loses out. Of course, alliances would fare better, but if you set up a betrayal, and your number is best, you can take all your former allies down too, without them knowing of your treacherous ways before it's too late.
How badly do you want the glory?
However, in order to plan stuff, and know how far I can take things, I need to know a few things from all of you in here.
1) How much of your force are you prepared to lose in the case of total defeat?
It can be as little or as much as you like, but bear in mind that it would need to be a fairly large amount of bodies to lose, as this represents your destruction or complete scattering.
2) How would your leader react if they won/lost?
Secure the area? Move on? Prepare a counter-offensive? Move to a new location? Seek penance? Be punished by superiors?
3) Who do you show allegiance to above all in the case of a final conflict?
Zonand?
Pavus?
Archarus?
Kageros?
Rakzsan?
Nox?
Lilliana?
None - you prefer to wage war alone and for no-one else?
Do you intend to betray your allies for ultimate power?
I'd need to know please!
4) Any specific battle strategems? Superweapons, reinforcements, innovative tactics, other stuff that could come out in a final showdown? All good to know.
5) The fate of your leaders. Are you prepared to have your leader killed off in a climatic battle? Whisked away by a transport shuttle, desperately wounded? Fleeing before they can be injured? Captured by the enemy? I'll need to know this the most.
Here's my main point: I need this info in within by next Sunday, the 31st of January, so everyone has a chance to at least see this and respond. So, if you don't respond by then with these details, I won't include you in the final showdown. Terribly sorry, but it's a whole week and a bit, if you miss that, I can't do much about that.
I can have these responses in via a message in this chat, if you're not worried about what people know, or if you do mind (perhaps setting up a sneaky betrayal), you can hit me up with a PM, preferably titled "Final Showdown Details" (it helps with filtering through stuff )
Any questions?
Rakszan and his affiliated force, MERIT, have 3 cruisers with 85, 000 personnel on each of those ships within and near the edge of the System. They also have one ship for a special occasion. Remembrance of Khansu is the only ship within the System, being a Shroud-Class Cruiser. Just to let you know, the other two ships are advance version of Lunar Class Cruisers. They could not suffer total loss as that means MERIT would only have 5 cruisers leave travelling through the galaxy...
Now for each question:
1) If Remembrance of Khansu is the only ship within Charadon System, then my expected maximun loss of force would be around 9,000. The reason behind this is their mission was mainly eliminate as much Kaos abd C'Tan forces as possible, not suffering devastating loss.
If 3 ships were in the System, then 27, 000. For the same reason.
2) The leadership's response would be move to a new relatively peaceful system for recovery, if the loss reach their acceptable level.
If they won, they simply move on to another suspected C'Tan and Kaos-infested area and continue their mission.
3) Rakszan and MERIT would have no choice but to fight the Kaos forces after they
4)
Spoiler:
In 799.M41, Big Mek 'Eadcrumpa lead his WAAAGH! to the newly awakened Tomb World of Suranas. After initial skirmishes proved the still lethargic Necrons to be no match for the Orks, Lord Mepthk struck a pact with 'Eadcrumpa. In exchange for several dozen functioning Doomsday Cannons, 'Eadcrumpa agreed to leave Suranas and seek plunder elsewhere (whilst secretly resolving to return). The WAAAGH! then descended on the Agri-World of Eden Prime, but 'Eadcrumpa was unable to resist his urge to investigate the mysterious core of the Doomsday Cannons he had taken from Suranas and 'Eadcrumpa, his WAAAGH! and the planet Eden Prime were erased from existence when he accidentally breached one of the weapons' containment cores. That was canon in the Orks Codex! Just for reference.
MERIT have several dozen containment cores with melta charge attached, store in that special ship. Either they have some crew barely enough to drive the ship strength into the planet, or have some other forces deliver the core on their desired target...
Pariahs and psykers: Each Cruiser (exclude the special ship) have at least 2:1 ratio of pariahs and pskers, in case of Kaos incursion. Pariahs with DoW wargear having the exo-skeleton as replacement of Necrodermis body
Exo-Forces: Have the Guardsmen equip the medium-armoured exo-skeleton, with more powerful version of lasguns or assualt-rifle-variant Synaptic Disintegrators, and you will get the image. Main tactic was hit and run, but they wouldn't hesitate to engage in close combat with their power swords. Some of them might be equipped with heavier armour and heavy weapons.
All of the troops would be teleported back to the ship if they die or injured (those injured ones must called for phase out by their own, or forced to phase out by the Command in some cases).
5) Rakszan would definitely teleport back to his ship before anyone could capture him. The other leaders in the MERIT would call for fleeing before they suffer losses in the space battles.

The Exo-Force would suffer the most as they are the main force of MERIT, up to 80%. The rest of the losses consist of Pariahs and psykers, 1,000 Pariahs for they would be the main target and 800 for the Psykers. The Pariahs does not simply being the precaution for daemonic incursion, but also guarding the psykers.

Made a single roll (minor victory) before for the blurb I wrote, since it was pretty much '' gather information x3 '' now that I have 3 distinct objectives, I made 3 distinct rolls.

Those Exo-Force are normal human beings. Have the Guardsmen equip the medium-armoured exo-skeleton, with more powerful version of lasguns or assualt-rifle-variant Synaptic Disintegrators, and you will get the image.
Main tactic was hit and run, but they wouldn't hesitate to engage in close combat with their power swords. Some of them might be equipped with heavier armour and heavy weapons. One of them in the squad would be equipped with stasis cannon and lightly-armoured exo-skeleton to counter enemies that were too fast to aim for normal soldiers.
As for the grenades, they would use stasis grenade to slow down enemy movements, especially useful against C'Tan and other faster moving units.
No superhumans. Only have cybernetic replacement if they were severally injured.

Sounds really cool, a couple things though, I'm not sure AR style Synaptic Disintegrators are possible, I'm pretty sure the technology for it only works in a sniper type rifle. Also, what is a stasis cannon? What faction has those, those sound pretty scary

Oh that.
For the assault-rifle variant of SD, they are definitely weaker than the normal one, but they could kill organics with better efficiency than your average lasgun or pulse gun.
As for stasis cannon, it's for MERIT only. Imagine a recoilless rifle shooting shields with stasis-loop field emitted once they hit something.

Well, the way the Synaptic Disintegrator works is by firing a leptonic beam that spreads throughout the body destroying the nervous system. I guess it could work in am assault rifle, not sure how I feel about the stasis weaponry though

How would a Knight House recruit arms men? If we find a plausible way for it to happen, I'd be OK with lending Falkon to you, so long as he doesn't die in CoF: Second Sun. I'm pretty resolute on no Histans dying.

C'tan don't exactly obey physics and therefore wouldn't be affected by a stasis grenade. It would be like shooting grav technology at some Daemons.

When knights go to war they typically bring along a small army of people with them. Some of these are sacristans (who repair the knights) but I figured I could bring along some of the Knights personal guards as well. I wanted to bring Falkon for the references

Yeah, I was curious how one actually joined the knights fighting force. Maybe the Knights came by Hista, and Falkon and his squad joined up for X amount of time? As long as he doesn't die, I'm happy.

It's not something that's really mentioned in the Knights codex (which I've been using as a reference point). I do know; however, that Knights sometimes deploy alongside foes who they deem honorable, and they'll fight alongside them. I figured that at some point, my House came across your Histans, and were so impressed by them, that they requested some of them to be seconded to the House's forces for a while.
