I know Vlad. I was just pointing out that some might be too ignorant/caught up in their hatred of xenos to actually care. A dead xeno is a dead xeno, after all. I'm sure some people with be confused if the crons start whacking each other, but some, (read: WAAAAGH BadToof) will just shrug their shoulders and charge ahead anyway.
And Kharne, it better not involve double crossing the Imperials. The Kroot don't go against their contracts. Even if it's a losing battle, or seemingly suicide to carry on. If they get paid for it, they'll do the job or die trying. It is a matter of pride, honor, and also if Kroot get a reputation of leaving when the going gets tough, then who would hire them?

I haven't been able to ask this earlier, but did I miss the reason why the 85th and part of the Tallarn units turned traitor? I know the 85th didn't think very highly of the Space Marines (granted, there was an abundance of reasons to think so) and Nasira thought her commanding officer was a tosser (again, not too far from the truth it seems), but that hardly seems like a reason to go on a backstabbing spree.
So tell me, did I miss something or is this part of some plot to be revealed in the last part of the story?

Yeah, Bob pretty much got it. They all supported what Pavus stood for, and felt disillusioned by Zonand. So they supported Kassani's vengeance ploy, and are helping him weed out the weaker Imperials. They're not Chaos-aligned, and think that they are in the right of the Imperium. The rest of the Imperial forces, according to them, are weak and sycophantic to (the late) Zonand. And thus far in the story, this is paying off very well for them. Of course, more to come.
STATUS UPDATE:
I've managed to whittle out some factions, who will have no further part to play in the crusade. I've got two/three shortish character chunks lefts, and them I'm onto the Big Two, the two battles that sum up the Crusade. So, progress is being made.
My aim is to get this completed on the 10th March, giving me just over a week to publish the last section.
Bonus point to anyone who can guess why I'm aiming for the 10th?

I didn't know Pavus' reach went that far, seems like I underestimated that treasonous git 
I'm guessing the Death Ravens won't be doing much in what follows, seeing as they're either blown to smithereens or are about to get BLAM'd for their incompetence by whoever is leading the Imperial side in this battle. You do make me wonder which two battles lie ahead, though...
Also, I think I know why the 10th is significant, but I'll keep that thought to myself for now

Also by fluff they tend to deploy as a full chapter. Might be tad overwhelming on the ground to have 1000 ish on one faction alone. Moat of us loyalists have company -2 max.
