The Eldar sneaked out of the city through a tunnel network, whilst the Imperials presumably stuck around to quell the last pieces of resistance before moving on.

This. Eldar were never mentioned in the assault, and no Imperial force took that much of a beating.

You could easily move on without reading the battle, but it's up to you.

As far as I was aware, yes. They're still loyal to the Emperor, but just see Tobias Payne as a bad ruler. They won't try expand beyond Crion, AFAIK.

The Tillers only care about getting rid of Tobias. They are still loyal to the Imperium, and the Emperor.

You slaughtered followers of the Lord General - in terms of highest ranker even after Zonand's death, I think the loyalists had the higher rankers.

The Arbiters are staying out of the politics of the Campaign. Too much hysteria.

The funny thing is, TS, that even if you do stay out of Imperial politics, you'll still end up fethed in the crossfire.

There's a Strike Force of Death Ravens that would very much like to confirm that, but sadly they were all bombarded by their own allies and then summarily executed.

Who would do such a thing?

Wouldn't the Lord Governor of Crion be in charge? Whilst an Inquisitor *can* lever power and overrule the Governor, it was decreed by the High Lords that the Governor has power over the system. Politics outweigh hypothetical rank.
And seeing as the Crion Compact was initiated, so long as the Governor is able to supply food to the sub-sector, they legally command entire armies if under threat.

Of course, such a situation could be avoided if the agricultural infrastructure of Crion were somehow disabled, forcing the Governor to declare themselves unable to produce food for the sector, and must withdraw under the Crion Compact.

Martial Law was only placed, IIRC, in New Pavus, following the Scion failure to capture Major O'Connell.

But as for the rest of Crion? Still under the jurisdiction of the Lord Governor.

How can Crion have aid if they cannot command it? If they cannot command it, how can they continue their bountiful harvest?
That's the argument I can imagine any savvy Governor using, and I think the HLOT would tend to follow that, for the good of the sub-sector.

Lord-General would be close behind though, and he would be a lot more human than an Astartes.
