So a minor spoiler to a very old game, in Dawn of War Winter Assault the main objective of all Imperial Guard and Forces of Chaos is capture of the crippled Emperor Titan Dominatus. In the last mission as any faction save the Orks you use the immobilized war machine's carapace mounted weapons to destroy half a dozen Monoliths of a surprise Necron invasion. My question is, what are those weapons?

You can see a close up of the weapons in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu4jH3YP5ZA (For those who haven't played the game).

I believe they are Turbo Laser Destructors, but don't look exactly what they are suppose to look like, my guess is that's Relic creativey liberty on the ascetics of the weapon, which I personally think suit 40k with their articulated firing. Speaking of which, when fired, they shoot power fiery orange laser means, a single volley enough to strip 3/4 of the heath off of a Necron Monolith.

So what does everyone think? Do Turbo Laser Destructors fit the bill for these weapons, or not?

on the forum. Obviously

I think its just something relic made up.
They look a bit like gatling lasers to me, but they shouldn't fire like that.

The titan cannon is reused in Dark Crusade in Victory Bay and it's named a Hellstorm Cannon. Dunno if it's suppose to be the same type of weapon or if it's just Relic recycling the asset for Dark Crusade.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I thought it was a Hellstorm Cannon. Maybe a laser blaster.

No hellstorms there, oddly enough.

the Hellstorm shows up on a lot of the old Epic versions of the Warlord and Emperor Titans, but hasn't shown up in the 40k versions yet. I'm guessing FW will do them sometime down the road.

It's possible someone screwed up. It *looks* like the Hellstorm Cannon - which is one weapon mounted by the Imperator Titan, but Hellstorms fires shells. The other weapon they mount is a Plasma Annihilator, it's possible Relic got the two mixed up.

The dinky little weapon mounted on the end is an old skool:
Carapace Multi-Laser

The Emperor-class that that specific Emperor is has an Orbital Defense Laser, a Macro-cannon, and four turreted Turbo-Lasers on it's carapace.

That's not what my link says, although admittedly the more reliable Lexicanum doesn't specify anything.

While not explicitly the same weapon, the Titan Cannon from Dark Crusade (which shares the same model) was explicitly called a Hellstorm Cannon I think, but it still fired a beam rather than shells. Relic sometimes takes liberties with how weapons are depicted (most notably their bolters fire what looks like solid slugs rather than the "rocket propelled grenades" that bolts are described as) so it could be just them interpreting the gun to look the way they best prefer it.

I was actually asking about the Carapace mounted lasers, not the large arm mounted cannon, and it had six in total, one on each knee cap, one on each arm/elbow and one on each each shoulder facing outward.
