Subject: Goblin Chieftain, Infamy Miniatures One Shots Kickstarter EXTRA FREE MINI! (Last 7 hours)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/infamyminis/infamy-one-shots-goblin-chieftain?ref=hero_thanks
After successfully completing his Big Smoke KS James from Infamy miniatures is launching the first of a series of small KS for 'cool things' unrelated to his game world (single minis from what I can gather so no stretch goals, no fuss etc)
First up is a Goblin Chieftain riding a (demonic plucked chicken?) thing
I'm love the look and am backing (I also backed the Big Smoke KS and was happy with the results and general communication)
will calculate shipping costs after the Kickstarter and if you back at Chieftain you will need to pay for it through the post-campaign BackerKit. This will ensure you are charged correctly for the pledge you purchase, no matter what add-ons you choose, and it allows me to offer additional tracked shipping options if that is desired by backers.
I estimate that shipping will be around £4 to the UK, £5 to Europe and £6 to the rest of the world.
Backers are guaranteed to get the Goblin Chieftain shipped to them at least two months before it goes on its limited availability general release (except for those choosing the Painted reward).
If the campaign is particularly successful the Goblin Chieftain will never get a general release (see the 'Kickstarter club' Stretch Goal) so this will be the only place to purchase it!

Love the rider, might wish for a different mount option myself, but will definitely check it out on launch. Was also happy with my miniatures from Infamy - the quality is fantastic, although I felt I paid a premium in order to get just a few of the models (better discounts at higher levels).

Update #1 Dec 22 2015
24 hour report - almost there!
Hello everyone!
It feels a little strange running the Kickstarter gauntlet again and there were a few pangs of anxiousness before launch but it's great to be posting the first update for a new campaign. I see many familiar names in the backer list - thanks for joining in again and making the place feel like home!
We are off to a great start and the turkey rider... um, I mean Goblin Chieftain is well on the way to hitting the target with just a couple more pledges required to pass the goal. Huzzah!
So, I suppose this update needs to talk about what's next...
Stretch goals
The first stretch goal will hit if the campaign gets to £3,000 and it will allow me to add a print of Silviu Sadoschi's awesome concept art to each pledge.
Looking past that, at £3,500 things could get even more interesting with the Infamy plinth stretch. I'm hoping we can hit this goal because I do love the idea of a special plinth that is specific to this campaign. I'll show off the design a little closer to the time but it's set to be £10 and will be a Kickstarter Exclusive. As with other campaign elements, I've got production lined up and ready!
The 'Last chance' goal is also quite close as it's due to hit if the campaign reaches 100 backers! This will mean that I can add the 2015 Series 54mm models to the campaign at a bargain price. This will be the very last chance anyone has to get hold of them.
Moving to production
You may be wondering how soon production will start once the goal target is passed. It will happen as soon as the campaign passes the goal, although Christmas and New Year will mean some things have to wait until the start of 2016.
As soon as we get the last couple of backers I can confirm with the caster that we are ready to go and, although I won't know totally accurate numbers until the end of the campaign, I can lock in a casting window and have everything ready.
I'll also be able to to sort out the bespoke boxes because I'll know that there will be enough funding to do a run of them. I have a couple of possibilities with these and will throw out more details in a future update. It should be pretty funky.
Anything else?
There was a request in the comments to see the parts for the kit. Here's a look at the breakdown of the different bits. My camera's not being friendly right now so it's Valentin's photo showing his breakdown of the master sculpt.
And that should do it for now. Thanks so much for your support!
Cheers,
James

I think this model is not actually usable in or set in the world of the Big Smoke (steampunk London) but rather being made as the first of a possible series of one-off models (fantasy themed in this case) unconnected to the game.

It looks great, but apparently I'm not smart enough, I can't see a scale.
I guess it's 54mm like the possible add-ons?
With the details it can't be 30

There's a size shot on the KS
so probably 32mm or there about (valentine zak is a really precise sculptor) Automatically Appended Next Post: Alpharius wrote:I want it - and I don't even know what I'd do with it!

general backers have only seen the background so far which seems fun not any of the actual game (although those who backed at the insider level last time may know more)
but from the sound of it it's getting close to where we'll get a look (especially now all the minis are finally out of the door)

Two stretch goals unlocked
Posted by Infamy Miniatures
Hey everyone,
It's awesome to be making another update so soon. Not one but two stretch goals have been unlocked. Brilliant stuff!
With the backer total going past 100 I've added the two 54mm models from the Big Smoke 2015 series.
These awesome kits of Nikola Tesla and Sergeant Crookes are only available in 2015 so this is the very last chance to get hold of them. I know that technically the campaign is running into January a bit but I hope nobody minds too much! Once the Kickstarter is over that's it, they'll never be available again.
Each model costs £15 (discounted from their standard price of £20) or you can get both for £28 through this Kickstarter. This is the last place you'll be able to get them.
And thanks to the total going past £3,000 each reward will have a print of the concept art added to it.
The next stretch goal is at £3,500 and if that total is reached it will unlock the plinth. I'll have more details of that if we get closer to it.
Until then, thanks so much for the support!
Cheers,
James

Free Big Smoke stuff
Posted by Infamy Miniatures
Hey everyone,
Happy 2016! Here's an overdue update with a fair mix of information about the campaign.
Production is go!
First I want to talk about where things are at with regards to production of the Chieftain and it's good news! Assuming schedules are kept and the casting goes through without hitches the estimated delivery date of May that I've stated is veering very much on the pessimistic side of things. I'm not going to change it to be sooner, I'd rather beat the May estimate than disappoint people by being late on a new date, however it is currently looking likely that within a couple of months of the campaign ending I'll have all of the Goblin Chieftain casts that are required. Hurrah!
I've experienced problems in the past with things slipping so I know that's still possible but my focus is on ensuring casts are produced as quickly as possible (but still maintaining quality of course)!
And so far all's good!
Some stretch goal changes
With the Goblin casting looking like a very positive part of the campaign it's left me to re-assess the other elements of this Kickstarter and search out any potential speed bumps. With that in mind I have, after some serious consideration, decided to remove the plinth from the add-ons. I understand that this may be a bit of a disappointment to some but rest assured I'll still be getting it produced and made available, I've just decided to do that outside of the campaign.
Why? Well, if the volume on the plinths was low they would not be a problem but if it was to go high they could end up taking longer to cast than the Chieftain itself (they are made by a different caster using a different method you see). That seemed like an imbalance to me and as they are an add-on I have no accurate way to register just how many people might opt in for a plinth and no way to limit their availability. The last thing I want is for backers to be left holding on for their pledges while a remaining add-on is sorted out. The most sensible option was to remove that risk altogether.
It wouldn't have felt right just removing that goal without adding anything extra though so in its place is a new thing, something shiny and for no extra cost...
Free Big Smoke stuff!
Every Chieftain pledge will now come with a free model from the Big Smoke range. These have a retail value of anywhere from £13 and so they add some serious value to the pledge. I will do my best to give you some choice of the model you get through the BackerKit by adding an option box for you to pick some preferred options but I can't guarantee any specific model will come your way, it is based on numbers. However, you are guaranteed a funky Big Smoke mini for no added cost!
Anyone backing at the Insiders level will get five Big Smoke models.
New stretch goals are almost here
The next goals are close to being unlocked! Just a smidgen over £100 is required to hit the £4k stretch goal and bring in the Combo Pledge. This is a limited availability item combining various things at a Kickstarter type bargain price.
If unlocked you will be able to get a Chieftain pledge plus an additional Goblin Chieftain model, a 54mm Nikola Tesla and a 54mm Sergeant Crookes for £69. This is a saving of £25 on the recommended retail price of these items. There will only be 25 of these pledges available though and they'll go online at the following time:
If the stretch goal is broken by 8am GMT on Saturday 9th January - 1pm GMT
If the stretch goal is broken by 1pm GMT on Saturday 9th January - 8pm GMT
If the stretch goal is broken by 8am GMT on Sunday 10th January - 1pm GMT
Black Market stretch goal
Should the campaign get another 11 backers then I'll make the Kickstarter's BackerKit a Black Market. What this means is that you'll have a chance to get hold of limited availability stuff and new releases ahead of their standard retail launch. I'm going to keep details secret about what exactly these things will be but I guess clues are fun so I'll drop some hints if this goal is unlocked.
Painted Goblin Chieftain
Myles at Lil Legend Studio has been putting his brush to the Chieftain and I'm really pleased to be able to show off his finished work before the end of the campaign. Though it isn't quite the radioactive maniacal turkey look he was hoping to go for until I cruelly requested he followed the concept art somewhat, I am very pleased with how he looks. I'm sure I'll get him a copy or two once the campaign is shipped so he can fulfill his dreams of creating nuclear fallout mutated Christmas dinner!

Boxing up
I've been checking various options for this and I think that the best way to go is to follow an instinct that I've had for quite a while and put the model in a metal tea caddie! I've found a good supplier for the tins themselves and have lined up a local printer to do some nice stickers to make it look super flash, then all I need to do is throw in some funky extras (I can't promise some Infamy tea but I am looking into it) and job's a good un! But I welcome feedback on this so do please let me know.
And I think that just about does it for now. I'll go and make a few little tweaks to the main campaign page to get ready for the final 48 hours! Any extra promo you can do now is brilliant and will help to push us closer to the next stretch goals.
Cheers,
James

Update #5 Jan 9 2016 Combo and Black Market stretch goals unlocked Evening everyone, I hope you're having a fine weekend. We've just had a bit of celebration at Infamy HQ after my girlfriend completed the truly titanic task of submitting her PhD thesis yesterday. So, I'm writing this update with a little champagne in my system. Hopefully it wont adversely impact on the content too much! Things have gone really well with the campaign and two stretch goals have been passed. What does that mean for backers? Well... You can now back at the limited Combo reward level This pledge offers you the best savings in the campaign by comboing up various different models in one reward level. There are a limited amount available though and it currently has sold over a third of the allowance. The Black Market will join the BackerKit Thanks to the backer total shooting past 150 another stretch goal has unlocked. At the end of the Kickstarter I will launch a BackerKit where backers can manage their pledges. Now I'll make that BackerKit a Black Market event. That means that anyone who backed the campaign will have the chance to get in and buy some funky Infamy stuff. These will be limited in number but that's so they won't hold up the shipping of pledges in any way at all. I promised a teaser in the last update of what to expect so here it is... Bird of Prey If the campaign reaches the Bird of Prey stretch at £5k each Chieftain model will have a new set of optional arms added to it for the mount. These set started out through a bit of a misunderstanding of the concept and though they are very cool they didn't quite fit with the look I was after so Valentin ended up making the new stubby ones. However, he very kindly sent me the bigger ones too so now you have the option. Well, you will if the total goes up a bit further. I guess that's about it for now, thank you so much for all of your support and yell at me if I've forgotten to share any info or update anything important on the main page. Thanks for helping to make sure the One Shots range gets off to a great start! Cheers, James Automatically Appended Next Post: Dang that combo pledge is great value! (if you'll paint the 54mm stuff or can use them as gifts etc)

Update #6 Jan 10 2016 Hey everybody, Thanks for all of your support so far! Things are really ramping up as we get to the end of the campaign and although my body has decided it is a good time for illness to kick in passing another stretch goal makes my fuzzy head and stuffed up nose much easier to cope with! They aren't going to change the mount from being flightless but they will give you an alternate option when you build him. This picture shows the difference between the standard wings and the new, bigger ones that will be added to every Goblin Chieftain model thanks to the campaign total passing £5k. What's next? The next stretch goal is currently set to hit at £6,000 and that will mean backers will get to read a little short about the Chieftain. It's not a huge freebie or anything like that at the finish, that's not what the campaign is about, and there's already value to be had. As I've said all along, the goals for the campaign are simple and I'm not scrambling to try and grab up a load more backers at the finish! Should that goal be passed the final financial stretch goal will be that a painting guide for the Chieftain will be made for backers to reference. And then there's the Kickstarter Club stretch goal. It looks like it is very unlikely that this target will be hit but that's the number that I have to stick to for this one. Future One Shot releases will have at least that many available and to limit the Goblin more than that isn't financially smart on my part for a model of this scope and complexity (it certainly wasn't a cheap sculpt!). Post-campaign As soon as the Kickstarter finishes I can synchronise the backer details with BackerKit and start to add the finishing touches there. As soon as possible after that I'll launch the BackerKit and you'll be able to start picking out your choices and adding any extras you may want, including Black Market items. It's possible this could be as early as Monday 11th January but I suspect a little later as payments then have to go through for the running of that kit. As soon as it's up you'll get an email through. Not too much more to get into just now but welcome to all of the new backers and thank you very much for your support. 2016 is starting in a great way for Infamy and the One Shots range is going to have an awesome beginning thanks to your support! Cheers, James Automatically Appended Next Post: Last 7 hours, get your cash in now, (still 4 combo pledges available)
