Looking for a new army to start, problem is, I'm interested in everything!
I'm beginning to get bored of using my beloved Necrons (sick of winning ) , so looking for an army to get me excited about the tabletop again.
So what armies do you get a kick out of using?... other than Orks, we already know they're hilarious

Imperial Guard, there's something satisfying about putting down a dozen heavily armored tanks and enjoying the look of horror on your opponent's face when they didn't bring enough AT.

Funny you say that actually, I have 2 boxes of old possessed sitting at home I was thinking about chucking together

Though I mainly play marines when I can put an inquisitor and his retinue on the table, I smile.

And doing it right instead of spamming Knights. I love playing against those lists too cause of how impressive they look across the table from me.

Tyranid Swarms, Ork Hordes, anything with a lot of numbers that can hemorrhage models and still make it into combat and wreck face is awesome. Sadly, points usually don't allow it unless you sacrifice all the hard hitting stuff... Still fun to play though.

If you're sick of winning. Play CSM. Hey, they are fun to model/kitbash. You can make a real cool and unique army. Won't be great on the tabletop but with hard work and solid tactics - you can win against lists that aren't tourney level. I win a good amount with my CSM, but it is a LOT more challenging than with my Necron, Ravenwing, or Daemon armies!

Personally I got very bored with space marines. I started with 6e Dark Angels, and they were ok, but I didn't like how I couldn't take some vanilla gear... worked my way through all the chapters until Sentinals of Terra, which I really liked. But I always played the same list...

If you have necrons right now, going Tyranids could be a good decision (metal to organic) is completely different look and feel. And they play pretty differently as well. Rumors for new Nids soon maybe?! *rumors*

If you don't like bugs, I really love my Tau, I did before the recent update as well. Being a gundam fan, I like the whole robot spam look.

And I really enjoy my Eldar. I know you are tired of winning.. but, I went with an Iyanden theme and it just looks amazing on the tabletop, probably my favorite colors scheme.

No matter how well I'm doing with my other armies, I get bored of them.

I have never gotten bored of playing my Sisters.

5 IKs thattblose to to obj sec armies and just lose overall because a traditional army has enough anti tank weaponry to destroy 5 vehicles.

Its still fun cuz I only have to move 5 models.

Playing CSM is playing Darksouls/ Demon Souls hard.

Tyranid, Tau & Eldar... All beautiful designs.

Maybe try an Eldar Corsair list or Harlequins or even Dark Eldar OR a mix of all of them. You might not win all the time but it will look FABULOUS

I started with Necrons. I know exactly what you mean about them getting boring. If you put them down for a good while, they'll get fun again.

I play Necrons, Tyranids, and Legion Space Marines. Modeling-wise, I now have the most fun with Marines. There's something a little more, well, human about marines that's not really there with "faceless horde" armies like Necrons and Tyranids. Though on the table, I have been having the most fun playing with Nidzilla lately.

Love fielding the new AdMech/Skitarii. The way they play is unique, the models are arguably some of the best ever made by GW, and most people have fairly limited experience against them.

I painted mine using the new gold sprays and paints put out for the AoS Sigmarines, and have loved how they have turned out.

Grey Knights are for me the most fun to play of the armies I own, because they participate in all phases of the game and require skill to be competitive.

Yeah I agree. I really like playing Warrior Spam, for the way it plays but more importantly the way it looks on the board.

Love putting my CSM on the field. As a hobbiest I've put a lot of time into the models so it's fun to see them on the table. Plus, playing CSM means I have to pull out all the stops tactically andfor me, that's much more fun than being ThatGuy.

Plus it's hilarious when your champion turns into a daemon prince (only happen twice but damn it was glorious)

Orcs make pretty much everyone have fun if you play them for fun rather then winning
and 30k armies look and play amazing
IG is fun to play with massed vehicles

Orks are so much fun to play. Not only will you have fun playing them, but your opponent will have fun.

They have so much life to them, unlike Necrons which are undead. Also you should watch the 12 days of waaghmas to get in the waaghmas spirit.

Imperial guard without a doubt. My usual look is a nice mixed force, so you have tons of infantry and tons of tanks. It just looks stunning.

I also love allying in an imperial knight for that big centerpiece feel.

Also I love me some rough riders, even if they are kinda terrible. The way a full squad of these noble knights look arriving from reserve is just too cool, even if they usually just get shot before they can get off a glorious charge.

I cycle through a lot of armies, both competitively and casually. Keeps it fresh for me.

My favorite army to play is really the Tau Empire. If you enjoy an army that has a huge amount of tactical flex in it, hard to beat. It lets you try all kinds of strategies. Some guys just gun line (boooooooooooooring) and some people only ever get to see that side of them, which is really too bad. But as for PLAYING them, think of the most mobile army you can with as much deployment shenanigans as possible and you have a very fun Tau Empire army.

Yeah I've been considering Tau and Tyranids the most. Both seem extremely fun to play when you mix things up a bit. Only issue is new Tau are so darned expensive! $80aud for Fire Warriors ugghhh.

I made the mistake of going straight to marines after Necrons and I'll tell ya, I got bored just writing up lists for them haha.

For me, I'd say that Khorne Daemonkin is a lot of fun to play. You get Blood Tithe points whether your units are killing or dying. Summoning new units is always fun, especially watching your opponent's reaction when you get a brand-new Bloodthirster just by sacrificing a lowly Cultist champion! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!

I love running my radical inquisition lists, their abysmal compared to even my other non tournament lists but their so fun to play with and against

I always love playing my GK. Something about fielding an elite army with so few models and your opponent thinking they have an easy win.

I play space marines because inquisition sucks alone.

Might not be an army on it's own, but i really love the inquisiton.
They synergise so well with my space marines. I'm having a lot of fun playing marines with some inquisitors mixed in there.

Nothing says screw you more lowering space marines to T3 in melee combat. I love the hordo xenos inquistor gear.
