Just thought I would ask everyones opinion. Is it worth paying for the privilege to review a book?

75 euros for 1 book a month (that Black Library will choose for you each month) and the opportunity (of a life time im sure...) to review it.

Is there anyone here who thinks that you can't just write a review on your own and post it wherever you like? Cause you can, it's not up to Black Library whether their products are reviewed.

In my opinion this is the single biggest joke of a deal Black Library has ever tried to sell.

As for me, I will continue to write reviews, and will not give Black Library money for the great privilege of making my opinion known.

Also they will be choosing which review THEY want to post. I'd bet a pretty penny that they would never choose a review that is in anyway negative, watch for all accepted reviews to be glowing.

Now I could be wrong, and the free short story they will include for this club will make it all worth it.

I already hate how everything on their website is so expensive that whenever i see something in a brick and mortar store i feel like its black friday -,-

I would consider that price for an honest-to-gods physical product but what the charge for their digital products is absurd and i cant read an entire book on screen without suffering terrible migraines so I'll be passing

Assuming you want all twelve eBooks, and all twelve eBooks are novels (no novellas or collections), you do actually save £20 over buying twelve eBooks individually by paying for the subscription.

True but you don't get to pick which 12 books you read do you? I mean if there is aspects of their universe you hate and those happen to be the subjects of a month or two your not really saving anything.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that not many people here buy >83% of the books that BL puts out. I mean, great, if you do, then this would save you a modest of money, but otherwise? Yeah, no thanks.

I'd wager the amount of people who get in on this "deal" will be small at best.
