Thats why I haven't got round to playing the Witcher series. I've got 1 and 2 on Steam (Steam sales) but the first game was so clunky and the combat so horrible that i just gave up.

Read a synopsis, play the second one (side with the intelligence guy, not the Elf terrorist), and get onto the third!

Got too much on my plate right now . Fallout 4, Silent Hill 3. I'm trying to support my local gaming club by helping out running games and attracting new people. I'm running a DnD campaign, and my friend has expressed interest in commissioning me to paint his Zombicide Black Plague set.

Jade Empire is still free if you have an EA origin account.

It's a great RPG, it's basically "Knights of the Old Republic" meets "Bruce Lee."

Ok, sure, you need an origin account but... Hey.

IIRC, the only Origins game I have is Sims 3. And I stopped playing that ages ago lol.

Is Origin any good? I pretty much just use Steam.

Unless you're massively restricted on hard drive space, there's basically no reason not to have both installed.

And the whole EA giving away a free game every few months from their back catalogue isn't the worst idea in the world to encourage people to take it up.

Don't get me wrong, Steam is still light years ahead but really, the only personal cost is hard disk space.

Thanks for the heads up. I may sign up for Origin. KoTOR in a martial arts setting sounds pretty cool and the price is certainly right.

Update.
I'm loving Witcher (1) so far! The wife is tentatively interested.

After I loaded Origin, I found that Jade Empire is for Windows only. A bit of a disappointment since I liked the look of the game, but I'm only out a bit of time. Doesn't look like there's much there for Mac, but I'll check Origin from time to time.

Suikoden looks pretty good and might be just the thing for my wife on the PS2. I've added Suikoden 3 to my list on amazon. For some reason Suikoden 2 seems to be selling for alot more than I care to pay for a game.

Dragon Age is Windows only on Steam, but Bauldour's Gate II looks promising even though it's more 2d so I put that on my wishlist also.

I'm getting a pretty good selection of possibilities now, but as before if you've got more suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Appreciate all your help!

One more thing, it was only a buck fifty so I bought Euro truck simulator. It's reasonably enjoyable and kind of relaxing and my kid like watching me play it. Anyone have any experience with Euro Truck Sim 2?

Well, it's basically just steam with a much smaller library of games (EA games, only).

You occasionally get some nice free games, though.

Though be careful when claiming/buying games if you're in a different country. They get locked to that countries version, hence my ownership of Espacio Muerto

Also, the Origin in-game overlay broke for Mass Effect 3 on my laptop ages ago and still isn't fixed, which means I can't invite people to join me in the multiplayer

The Laws of Thermodynamics:
1) You cannot win. 2) You cannot break even. 3) You cannot stop playing the game.
