So whats some of the ships or just the one that you personally want to see realized in the game? they don't have to be offical cannon ships either.

I'd like to see some ships more useful for cinematic play. Models to represent the civilian ship, satellite, cargo container, etc, tokens for various missions. A lot of the actual freighters are probably too big; You could make them as Huge ships, but no-one's going to pay sixty quid or more for a mission objective. I'd buy them for Armada, though.

Also, the Blade-Wing prototype from Rebels and a Scum Gozanti (again, a few versions show up in Rebels now and then)

More Force Awakens stuff. There were only Xs and TIEs in the film, but in the Force Awakens thread a few down there's some great concept art for things like a much beefier transport Y-wing, the awesome-looking L-wing, 2 seat X-wings, First Order sort-of Interceptors, a mean-looking cross between a TIE and a Lambda... I'd take any of that as a model, and Kylo Ren's shuttle while I'm at it! Basically anything here: https://imgur.com/a/dlkyY

Can't think of any OT stuff they haven't done, and thus far there hasn't been a huge amount of new stuff in Rebels, although from the toys there's a new Scout variant of the Y-wing coming up at some point...

I am also one of those that wouldn't be averse to seeing Clone Wars era stuff. Say what you like about the Prequels, the ships are pretty damn pretty! Gimme ARC-170s, Jedi Starfighters, LAATs, Trifighters, Vuture Droids, Hyena Bombers by the bucketload and I'll be one happy nerd!

Well it could work, could be like that level from rogue squadron

Next wave, I would put money on:
Upsilon-class shuttle (Kylo Ren's Shuttle)
The Resitance transport (currently unnamed, I think?)
Quad Jumper (as a Scum option)

Beyond that, unless Disney gives FFG access to some preliminary ship designs for Episode 8, they're out of options. I would love a special forces TIE with interesting upgrade options and a rear arc, but the model is so visually similar to a standard TIE Fighter that it doesn't seem like a good business move to release it (more likely it will just be a title for the F/O).

The logical thing to do would be to start diving into the Prequel trilogy, which has ample choices for ships. That would involve introducing new factions (the Old Republic and the Separatists), which might complicate game balance - they would initially group them into the Rebel and Imperial groups like they do now, but eventually there has got to be a plan for them to be played as unique factions once the ship lists have been fleshed out. For example, you could give subtle buffs to lists that use ships from the same faction. This is an obvious next step, I'm sure the folks at FFG have discussed it internally at length.

If they want to evolve the game past the pure deathmatch that it is currently, this might be a good strategy. They've done some design work with campaigns in their other games (and very basic campaigns for Epic), so it would be cool to see them innovate a bit and start creating support for large-scale campaign play that fits into the same play space that things like escalation leagues currently do. Adding in lots of non-competitive ships that acted as alternate objectives would facilitate that, as it could expand the game beyond just "how can I kill my opponent" into "I need to kill my opponent, but I also need to do these other things". If they could design a league/campaign system where what happens in a game influences future games, where points and equipment are not necessarily even between sides (things like that) would dramatically expand the "game space" that X-Wing exists in. 100pt deathmatch would still be a thing (probably the primary way of playing), but variety would keep the player base more engaged.

While I'm not a terribly great fan of the prequel stuff, my biggest concern is that they would make them too good. There's a reason the armies switched over to X-wings and tie fighters, the other ships shouldn't have been as fast, as maneuverable, as hard hitting, and the flying of those ships should be represented as such in the game.

Frankly, I just want the mist Hunter and Jumpmaster, and a break to actually have time to play all the ships I still haven't played

Would it not be easy just to do the Prequel stuff as a 'separate' game? Same rules, and technically cross compatible, but built around a different balance structure. It would make very little sense to mix the two in an actual game anyway, from a fluff perspective, so it wouldn't be that much of an issue.

This is what Knight Models have just done with their Batman/Spiderman lines, and GW do it with 40k/30k, the same could be applied to X-wing.

I think FFG already said they they won't ever do the prequel stuff.

At the rate they release stuff, in addition to the Rebels wave, there will probably only be one more release in 2016. I would hazard a guess that it will include the remaining ships from the Force Awakens. TIE/SF, Rebel transport, Kylo Ren Shuttle and the Guavnian mercs ship that boarded Solo's freighter. Possibly a book ship for the resistence (Y-wing?).

At that point, you get to the Rogue Squadron movie which may have ships they'll release, but at that point we're into 2017.

I'm trying to think back to the Star Wars CCG, but I can't think of any other ships they haven't released.

In addition to Boba Fett, IG88, Dengar and Bossk, we're missing the fat alien/droid team from ESB of bounty hunters. We need their ship. Or is that one of the ones on its way?

I'd like a new dual faction Falcon, with both Scum and Resistance Pilots and assorted faction upgrades, its unlikely I know but the Falcon is a iconic legend, that and an Asoka crew card at some point

I'm glad someone pointed out Rogue One. I'm guessing we'll see the older ships, but since it looks like it focuses on a scrappy bunch of fellows, we might get a unique ship, or new type of fighter, from there.

Hopefully they had enough DNA papers for everyone at FFG and they could coordinate the design and production of new ships in time for Episode VIII (The Forces Snoozes for a bit).

Rogue One isn't a Rogue Squadron movie. It's about a special forces team on the ground, and has been said to be shooting in the style of old, gritty ground war films. Doesn't sound like there will be much aerial combat at all.

It's Alan Tudyk. If he's not flying something at some point in the movie, I'll be very disappointed.

It's also set between Episodes 3 and 4, and Rogue Squadron wasn't formed until after the battle of Yavin. At that point it was Red Squadron.

Oh I know, and I'm not expecting them to go as far as plastic dinosaurs and hula shirts, but him in command of a ship, even if just a lowly transport, would please a lot of people, while doing very little harm to the narrative.

I see the title of the movie as being a much better way than saying "Star Wars: Genisys."

It's been confirmed for a while Steve the Pirate is playing a 'performance capture' character. So yeah, he's voicing/mo-capping either and alien or a droid.

Yes, I'm a big fan of Alan, and I'll even take him as a performance captured character. They have to do more with him than they did with Andy in Episode VII.

I'm expecting Rebel Veterans to be connected with Rogue One. I don't think that it will only be ground focused movie... the cast shot is clearly in a hanger. Besides one of the Facebook banners for the movie features a squad of X-Wings. Actually, I'm hoping for the HWK-290 to make an appearance in the movie and box along with some love for the Y-WIngs (EPT's on pilots... PLEASE!)

I wouldn't mind seeing the TIE/ad, also known as the TIE Avenger. Kind of a tougher looking TIE Variant.

Yes, the "production" TIE Advanced. Same stats as the existing TIE Advanced, but with Attack 3, and possibly a slightly different movement dial. None of the computer games had both versions of the Advanced alongside each other, so I don't know how they compare.

Problem is, I'm not entirely sure how you would fit an Avenger between an Advanced and Defender.
