That is sort of the role of the Scyk... at least the non-heavy version.

Actually, the Scyk is more like the TIE/fo. Not really fast, but a little heavier than a regular swarm ship. Not super heavy gunned, either. Whereas the Interceptor is fast, heavily gunned, and fragile.

People need to get over the idea of Star Wars being scifi and realize its space fantasy. There is no real technological progression, except when it is convenient for story writing purposes.

Though with New Canon we don't know when the Hammerheads were developed, so they could just be a Pre-Clone Wars design.

In the Legends continuity. Canonically there is no rogue squadron anymore and Disney is free to do with it what it pleases if they do choose to reintroduce it.

Except Rogue Squadron is refereed to by name in The Empire Strikes Back, they were the pilots looking for Han and Luke when they were out in the snow.

Found a ship in the Star wars CCG that has not been made yet - the TIE Vanguard. A scout TIE - if the Tie fighter is already the cheapest ship in the game, how fragile would a scout tie be?

10 points - 1 attack die & 4 green dice?

Just say no... We don't want to see 10 ship swarms, even if they fall apart when sneezed at.

There are a lot of ships from the Clone Wars series that could be brought forward... particularly as Scum.

Even if they came out with a ship that was 10 points, you couldn't field 10, I believe the rules set a maximum of 8.

Actually, that's only for Epic Games (Since that's the only time that you could run more than 8 of the current ships).

Epic is 12 and 8. 12 of a specific type of small based ship and 8 of a specific large based ship.

I had fun making myself a pair of Twi'lek Deathseeds from the EU out of Xwing s-foils and Tie eyeballs. I field them usingTie Interceptor cards, usually with at least shield upgrade, sometimes with the Royal Guard title, so they end up being tougher than stock Squints, as in the books they were tougher-than-normal interceptor fighters (but still fragile) with the punch of the X-Wing quad lasers, but were much more maneuverable than X-wings. They are painted to mimic the Imperial Aces pack, obviously.

Thay're much more what I would like as Interceptors for the Scum faction than the Scyk.

So whats some of the ships or just the one that you personally want to see realized in the game?

For me it would probably be the Minstrel-Class Yacht or a scaled down/converted version of it, as the epic ship for Scum. It's iconic, could have "Star Jewel" and "Dragon Pearl" as titles, Jabba and Jiliac as passengers, Mako Spince, Ana Blue as pilots, Kell dragons or hidden turbolasers as illegal/illicit cards and it could come with 2 launchable Z-95s in alternate Scum paint schemes, with "Dicer" and "Z-95XT" title cards (remove missile, add passenger for the latter), Eelo Begraas a new pilot.

Why not? Punishing One, Mist Hunter and many before them were EU designs and they were all still made. I don't buy the talk about how they must have been designed before the acquisition, since that was well over three years ago now and I can't imagine eight full waves having been planned out at the game's inception. Until I see either a letter from Disney confining them to the new canon or a decision from FFG themselves, I'll be skeptical.

Theyre called Gauntlet Fighters or Kom'rk Fighters.

According to this: http://www.starwars.com/databank/hammerhead-corvette the design "dates back centuries".

I think its generally understood that FFG isn't being held to canon as the rpg books, etc. often include information that is pretty decisively pulled from Legends continuity. The flavor text for the various ships likewise typically alludes to Legends, as does many of the pilot names, etc.

They're undoubtedly supposed to be Gauntlet fighters, absolutely positively.

Thing is, having a poke around wookiepedia, now I know they have a name, I noticed that the smallest of the two versions mentioned is over 50m long. The A Wing, while I know it's had some issues with exactly how large it is supposed to be, is listed at <10m.

Now, watch this sequence, they don't look 5x the size to me, so I reckon some scale shenanigans has occurred somewhere.

It's two different ships we're talking about, I think...

This is the 50-meters ship from The Clone Wars series...

And this is the smaller fighter seen in "The Protector of Concord Dawn"

Yet the wookiepedia entry for Concord Dawn calls them Gauntlet Fighters, and 50m is the smaller of the two.

Not a big deal, I'm not one to get anal about scale, but it either means the Concord Dawn fighter isn't a Gauntlet, or they've altered it's size, which given the "new canon" Disney era, is just as likely.

No, they got to make those because the iconic pilots for those ships actually appear on screen in one of the movies.

It's definitely an offshoot based on the older "Gauntlet" fighter. I'd say "Gauntlet Fighter" is just a slang term itself, a nickname rather than a proper designation. Wookieepedia implies that the 53.2 metre and the 68.1 metre versions are the same class and nickname, so why not a smaller ~15 metre fighter version that came later? Just my thoughts on it.

Mathieu Raymond wrote:No, they got to make those because the iconic pilots for those ships actually appear on screen in one of the movies.

But has this been confirmed or is it assumption? I haven't seen anything announced or stated that FFG will only be restricted to new canon.

Ok, so Rogue Group in the movie, but there are other Canon Sources shown at the bottom of the Canon Wiki page, which is still titled and refers to them as Rogue Squadron.

I would LOVE to see a V-Wing somewhere, but it would be awkward. It has an astromech slot, but wouldn't fit with Rebels really. Imperials would mean creating an "Imperial Astromech" upgrade type or retconning some of the unique Astromechs to be Rebel only. Scum would work sort of, but I've never read or seen anything to indicate the V-Wing was sold off in any quantity. AFAIK it was just retired and never seen again not long after the rise of the Empire.

Having said that, I'd buy at least 3 regardless of how bad they were in the game. I love 'em.
